Chapter 19: Lightning's Birthday

"A little higher!"

"This HIGH?!"

"ON your left!"

"This Left?!"

"NO! You're other left! AHH!"

Asben was trying to guide Niro who was hoisting the banner to the ceiling and then the black porcupine hair boy end up crashing while tipping the latter in process.

It's Lightning's birthday and you prepared her present for whatever you pick out from the store. Luckily Kyouwa helped you out and let you touch certain things after you bought it.

Serah promised to tell something to you and her sister and it must be serious when the Pulse Stone started to glow in Cocoon.

Had Serah been keeping secrets? Or are you starting to feel like danger is about to harm your friend?

Either way, you learn patience  and listen to what she says.

Snow was right beside her and you can't hear what they were saying. You can see their souls but  you see that Serah's soul is wavering in hesitation and nervousness.

She must've carry this burden for a while and Snow was doing everything he can to comfort her.

"Mooncake!"

You perked up hearing Vi's voice who is walking towards you. Standing in front greeting you with warm arms. You welcome her by hugging back as you both pulled away.

"Hey, Vi." You smiled. "Here to  crash the party?"

Vi chuckles. "If anyone's crashing the party, it's Powder. How are your eyes?"

"It's getting there." You assured. "A few more days and I should be able to see. It's too bad that I'll miss the look on Light's face when she opens her present."

Vi hums and nodded. "Well... if they don't heal on time, then someone should stick around and be your eyes... temporary. If you want."

"Really?"

"Really, really." She confirms.

"You would .....  stick around and guide me anywhere if my eyes would take a long time to heal?" you were surprised that she would go so far to help.

"Yeah." Vi said.

A slight pause before you smiled. "You....you really are going so far to offer a little push, huh?"

Vi chuckles lightly before brushing her red hair. "I'll take my chances."

You chuckle as well and you could probably picture Vi's soft smile, glazing down at you. The scar on her lip and her dashing black eyelashes that are hiding her red hair. You feel her heat closing in when she started to close  the distance between you.

She was too close, she rested her hand over yours, holding it gently as if your made of glass.  This same feeling every time she held them carefully. You had no idea what was going on, but you to feel her breath too close to you.

Your heat is starting to beat and your face is likely gonna catch a cold. When Vi was going to press a small messy peck, she was interrupted by a loud yell.

"Yo! Draga-Poo! Light is coming! Start hiding!" Niro exclaims as he hid in his hiding place.

"U-Uh, right!" You uttered and pull away from Vi and hide somewhere.

Vi just stood there utterly defeated and completely furious that your annoyingly pretty boy -  cousin of yours just had to step in and ruin this moment.
