Chapter 20: Hanging Edge

You were taken as hostage and you don't know what's going on. A bunch of souls are hard to read and focusing, they all seem to be afraid of something.

Could something happen to Serah? You hope that she's okay. Hearing that she is l'Cie for pulse, she would find out her focus and turn into a crystal gaining eternal life. Your best guess that she'll be sleeping forever unless you find a way to erased this kind of curse the gods did this to people.

You never thought some stories would eventually become reality.

It's hard to focus with all the crying and hearing, it makes your head spin. Then all  but one started to come closer to you, a little too close that this soul is closing the gap.

"Hello there! Are you alright, Miss?" A very chipper-feminine voice greeted you.

"Uh.... who are you?" You asked.

"Oh, sorry. You can't see. I'm Vanille." She introduced. "What's your name?"

"(Y/n)." You answered. "So, Vanille, what's going on? Where are we going?"

"We sort of been under attack by the army of Pulse. Cid Raines order that the l'Cie needs to be captured." She explained.

"Are anyone coming to the rescue?"

You see her soul nervously wavers, but there is a slight hope that someone would come. "I hope so... we just need to find a way out. "

You hear the train stops and everyone is walking out. "Looks like we're moving out. I have to find my brothers."

"Can I come? I'll help." Vanille volunteered.

"I barely met you. I wouldn't want to drag you with me."

"You need help. You might no know where these tunnels lead in Pulse. The Purge will be evacuating every citizens that are effected by Fal'Cie."

You might consider her words until you agree. "Alright, just try and stay close. Do not go close to the  Purge."

"Right."

Vanille took your hand and guide you out of the train. You have no choice but to trust her, you have no idea about her origins but what other options.

You got no partner. No bros. No Vi. Speaking of Vi, you wonder what happen after you left Light's home. Her attitude did took a hit on you, but hey you try to suppress the doubt in yourself, you learn your lesson to never reconcile with Anakin even if he wants a second chance, no way.

You just hope you don't regret to trust this unknown girl who you can't see right now.

You hear shooting which would mean that their are battles are fighting. Someone must've  been leading the Resistance to free the prisoners.

You were sitting with the rest until you hear a familiar voice.

"You all okay?"

It's Snow!

"Don't worry, no one's moving to Pulse today." Snow promised. "We'll clear you a path out of here, so be ready to-"

"Wait! Let me fight with you!" A man from your side declared. And then more wanted to fight along side Snow.

You hear an explosion as Snow finally agrees. "Okay then. Volunteers front and center."

They all take their gun that were handed down. You then hear a little call out to  his mother who reassured him. You took a stand as well and reach out for Snow's soul.

"Snow!" You called out to him.

He suddenly looks shock. "(Y/n)?! Wha?! What are you doing here?! Did they kidnap you too?"
