Broken and Lost

The sky was a bright blue, a celestial blue that spread wide over the people below. The waters reflected the beautiful shade of blue and gently flowed onto the sandy beaches of the resort. The people were conversing, packing, running and enjoying their lives as if nothing had happened just a week prior to this day.

It had been a little over a week since the incident of mass hysteria that plagued Starlight Wonderland, and yet the people summed it up as a bad panic from the recent stories about Ultima werewolves. Some people would say that the incident was just another publicity stunt gone wrong. Others would say that it was true and that the Ultima werewolf really was there on the island. Everyone else had their own stories about what happened, but eventually as time passes on, all will think of this chaos as just another bad dream.

Everyone wandered about the island, trying to get their minds off of what happened while leaving the island for good.

As the news spread and rumors circulated around this chaotic event, a press conference was called to bring attention to the new developments and how to put this chaos to rest. It played on the announcement screens for everyone to see.

"The news preview from the Guardian Forces have confirmed the suspected death of the Ultima werewolf today. Jess Silvermen has lead a briefing earlier today about the incident from BrightPort."

The image changed from the picture of the Ultima to a woman dressed in formal clothes and armor with bright red hair and stunning blue eyes.

"A tragic incident has occurred over these past few days on the Starlight Island." She announced, "The long sought Ultima werewolf was discovered on the island over the past month. During which, the islands were kept under a strict blockage carried out by the Guardian Forces. In that time, a regiment was dispatched to find and capture the Ultima and his relatives."

"Judge Silvawind!" One of the reporters shouted, "For many years now, the public has been lead to believe that the Ultima was a myth, a fairy tale I'll have you. Are you confirming the existence of the Ultima?"

The camera came closer and the woman made her claim, "I, Judge Silvawind of the Naval Forces, am confirming that the Ultima did indeed exist."

The people erupted in an roar of shouting and screaming, wanting nothing more than for this terrifying creature to the pages of its story books.

"The Guardian Forces had as much knowledge as anyone else. Our soldiers have been using Starlight as training grounds with permission from the Starlight CEO. It was by chance that we were here when the Ultima went on his rampage. Our soldiers fought valiantly against him, but once he was cornered he transformed and went berserk. I don't know how and I don't know why, but many of our lost soldiers were brought back to us, completely healed and unharmed. Whether it be by pure luck of perhaps even the gentle touch of a great power, I am relieved to see that our men were saved and the Ultima is now confirmed to be dead."

"Is that one of the reasons as to why Starlight is closing?" Another reporter asked.

"Yes. It's been a traumatic experience for everyone involved. I can assure you that the Guardian Forces are doing everything in our power to ensure that the Ultima will not have any surviving relatives. An autopsy on his corpse with our findings will be made public. This concludes this press conference. Thank you."

The conference ended with that note, other reporters wanting to know even more about the incident or if they had any leads about the Ultima's family line. However, the Guardian Forces would never be able to find any kind of conclusive evidence about bloodline, power or even where the body came from. A certain someone made sure of that.

Rowan turned off the tv with a huff hearing all the sweet words the woman said to the press.

"Hmph." He huffed, "This may satiate the public, but they'll always have someone doubting their word."
