Ordinary.
That word described me,
Just another teenage girl,
Waiting to get a drink.
I didn't ask to be different,
Nor did I ask to be born,
But anyway I got both,
And I guess the short straw was drawn.
I started drawing a symbol,
Everywhere I went,
Until it got to a point where my room was covered,
Even the bottom of my bed.
I first saw Jace in a bar,
Doesn't that sound ordinary so far?
But guess what he was doing?
He was killing a demon of course.
Jace turns out to be a shadow hunter,
And I turned out to be one too,
The symbol that I drew,
He knew what it meant too.
There are two different worlds,
So different yet so the same,
And sometimes I actually wonder,
If all of this is just a game.
Ordinary.
No, that's not me,
No not anymore,
That word went flying out the window,
Not so long ago.
It feels like it's just in arms reach,
But it slips right through my hand,
So I just live the life I now have,
And I've got to say I'm glad.
