Okay, I know you all are probably getting v v pissed off with me now for not posting a One Shot, but I've ran out of ideas so if you have any please let me know but in the mean time I need your help.
You see, this Friday (29th), the majority of my school is traveling to Belgium to hold a memorial and learn about the Battle of the Somme. We all have to create a piece of art to do with the Somme and it could be anything so obviously I went for the easiest option but I don't know about it...
Here it is...
Bodies are falling,
Yet hopes are high.
You could hear the feeble laugher,
And their battle cries.
While children ran, innocent and pure,
Men were running too, surrounded by their deceased friends and life scarring gore.
We sell poppies to remember those,
Who risked their lives to save our own.
We wear them boldly and with pride, with a special twinkle in our eyes.
They didn't have the luxury that we have,
They didn't have advanced weaponry or as much as a decent sleeping bag.
So this is a poem to show recognition,
To all the brave soldiers who died on a mission.
