Despite 'Good Morning Call' being a Japanese show, all speech between the characters will be in English.
It has been months since the new girl came to her school and managed to spend more time with her boyfriend than Nao actually did herself, and she thinks that, that may be the reason why she came up with the conclusion she had to break it off with Uehara.
She felt tears slip down her rosy cheeks as she wrote down a note saying she was going out so he shouldn't wait up for her.
私は行くよ。アップ待ってはいけません。
-Nao
She shuffled to the door and slipped her shoes on, making sure she had her phone and key on her before leaving Uehara's apartment where she stayed for the night; leaving to see Daichi in his new apartment. He knew all about what was happening in her failing relationship and it was just wearing Nao down. She barely ate, she can't sleep, on top of that she has her studies and job, by the end of it all she looks like a zombie.
It took a while to get there, but Nao was impressed and in awe at the size of the place.
"Daichi! This place is great!" Nao exclaims, taking her shoes off before running around the place.
"I'm glad you like it, would you like some hot cocoa?" He asks, walking into his kitchen.
"Yes please!"
Taking a seat on Daichi's couch she takes in the apartment and sees how similar it is to her old home, the one she had shared with Uehara, but Daichi has given it his own touch which makes the place look totally different. She liked it. Coming out of the kitchen with two steaming hot cups of hot Cocoa, Daichi placed them on the table and took a seat next to her.
"So, he's not only broke the promise to me, but the promise he made to Issei? I'm going to kick his ass!" Daichi exclaims, but Nao was calm, she already let out all her frustration.
They say that a girl won't break it off until she's sure, so if she breaks it off with you then you know she's thought long and hard about it and there's no changing her mind, something happened for her to come to that decision and you can't change the past.
"Daichi, it's fine. I just want to stay here with someone who cares, and then I'll go home, move all my stuff back into my own apartment and then at some point I'll let him know,"
"You've really thought about this, haven't you?"
"A bit too much, if I'm honest. But it cannot be helped, I can't go on with him treating me like this. In between work and school, he spends most of his time with her and little time with me, I might as well break up with him and then he can spend all his free time with his girlfriend," Nao says quietly, but you could still hear the resentment and bitterness in her words.
"But, Nao, you're his girlfriend,"
"I feel it too," she comments.
"Alright, no more talk about him. Tonight we'll binge watch romance films until we pass out, then tomorrow we can go to the aquarium and go to see Issei and get some ramen for lunch, after that I'll help with the rest of your unpacking."
Nao smiles and wipes the tears that had materialised when Daichi listed all the things on their to-do list, he actually cared for her and showed it, unlike Uehara.
"Thank you, Daichi,"
"Anytime, Nao."
For the rest of the night they did exactly that, they binge watched romance films, consumed too much junk food and passed out from the exhaustion. It was the kind of distraction Nao needed right now, not once did she think about Uehara and she was grateful, she managed to catch up with an old friend without breaking down in tears.
