"I've already agreed."
Y/N's firm, calm response leaves Yeonjun speechless for a moment. She gazes at him intently, noticing a hardened look on his face. Yeonjun lowers his voice and asks, "Why did you suddenly agree to the marriage?"
With a gentle smile, Y/N gestures to the chair beside her, saying, "Sit down, oppa."
"I won’t. Answer me first."
Yeonjun’s irritation is visible. In a cool tone, she replies, "I will, but first sit."
Yeonjun tosses his black jacket onto Y/N’s tidy bed, now only in his light gray t-shirt. Taking a deep breath, he sits down, running his hands through his hair with frustration. Shocked, Y/N remarks, "Why are you taking out your anger on your hair? Do you know how much you spend at the salon?"
Yeonjun, with a hint of annoyance, replies, "I don’t go ten times a month, only once."
"Still, calm down. Want me to massage it?" Y/N teases.
"No, thank you. Soon, I won’t be able to rely on you for such things. I’ll have to manage myself without your help."
Ignoring Yeonjun’s frustration, Y/N jokes about all her habits of taking care of him, from making his coffee to organizing his things, even hiding his beer bottles to keep them from the housemaid. She laughs, "And who will keep your underwear organized? If not, they’ll end up everywhere like always, and the maid will tell the whole neighborhood!"
Despite her teasing, Yeonjun’s gaze remains intense, unyielding.
Finally, he says with a slight smirk, "I see marriage has made you smile brighter. Is he that handsome? I haven’t seen you this happy in a long time."
Trying to mask her discomfort, Y/N gives a faint smile, "There are many reasons. Marrying him will let me settle in my dream country. He's a doctor, like I want to be. Together, we can create a family of doctors. And, to find companionship and happiness, marriage seems necessary. So yes, I agreed. But I’ll stay here for a couple more years to finish my studies."
Yeonjun’s grip tightens, surprising her. His eyes burn as he says softly, "Then you’ll go tell Dad you're declining."
"Why?"
"Just do as I say. Study first, then marriage."
"But I'm ready, oppa. I’ll be here for two more years. You’re just afraid of the change of your habit without me."
"It’s not just about habits. You’d be taking everything away from me." He mutters, standing up.
Before leaving, Yeonjun sternly says, "Since you’re ready for marriage, tomorrow will be a practice day. From morning, you’ll wear a good wife faced, make me breakfast, and do everything a wife would. If you can’t, I’ll make sure the marriage doesn’t happen."
With that, he storms out, leaving Y/N speechless. She realizes that this is the old Yeonjun—the protective saviour, not the person who fell in love with Soobin and lost himself.
Y/N entered her father's room with a firm resolve to oppose the marriage. As soon as she brought up the topic, Daehyung spoke in a stern tone, saying the marriage must happen. He was no longer willing to listen to her objections. He couldn't bear the thought of her life being ruined because of Yeonjun. As a father, he refused to accept it. But Y/N didn’t back down. When she declared her decision to leave the house if forced, Daehyung, with a deep voice, responded,
"Neither Yeonjun nor Taehyung will have my support in becoming the minister if you don't go through with this marriage. You know very well what kind of person your father is. I can be incredibly selfish when it comes to my daughter and my political interests. Yeonjun doesn’t love you, and living your life alone for him would undoubtedly be foolish."
