The sky was covered with dark clouds. Some gathered in clusters, hosting a small gathering for bringing rain, while others drifted aimlessly, like carefree adolescents. A bone-chilling breeze swept through the landscape, carrying with it a gentle drizzle of the rainy season. The bustling city lay unusually silent, stripped of its usual noise and heat, basking instead in the serene touch of the monsoon. Jungkook moved a bit closer to Jimin, both huddling under the same umbrella to shield themselves from the rain. Their driver hadn’t yet arrived, though their university had dismissed over twenty minutes ago.

After their exam results were announced, Jimin was enrolled here. There was no higher class university in their countryside area around Busan, and the idea of building one was still in its infancy. Every vacation, they would rush back to Busan, only to return to the city of Seoul when classes resumed. Such was the rhythm of their lives.

Jimin’s voice broke through the sound of the rain. “I think the driver might be stuck in traffic. Should we take a cab instead?”

“What if he shows up here looking for us?” Jungkook replied, his voice laced with concern.

“That’s true.” Jimin admitted with a sigh. “They don’t allow mobile phones at this university. Otherwise, we could’ve called hyung to pick us up.”

“What do you think? Is he stuck in traffic?” Jungkook asked again. Looking around the deserted street, Jimin said, “It’s so quiet here, there isn’t even a single taxi as well.”

“Just because this place is peaceful doesn’t mean the rest of Seoul has stopped being chaotic, silly bunny.” Jimin teased. “Rain or not, traffic jams are always there.”

“Well, I guess there’s nothing to do but wait.” Jungkook said, resigning himself.

“You’re getting wet, Jungkook. Take this umbrella.” Came a deep male voice.

Startled, Jungkook blinked his rain-soaked lashes and looked ahead. Standing before him was a tall, well built boy holding out an umbrella. His fair face wore a gentle smile, and he was dressed in the same uniform they are wearing. Jimin, annoyed at the sight, snapped, “How many times do I have to tell you that he’s married? Stop bothering him, Mingyu!”

The boy named Mingyu was one of their classmates. From the first day of their university class, he had tried to befriend them, but Jimin had made it clear they weren’t interested. But Mingyu was relentless. Eventually, he had confessed his feelings to Jungkook. Most of their classmates didn’t believe Jungkook was married. They thought it was a joke. They’d mockingly say, “What’s the point of pretending to be married? Just say you don’t want to date now.”

Jungkook didn’t even try to prove the truth anymore. A strange sadness crept into his heart whenever people doubted him. What kind of introduction had Taehyung given that nobody knew he, Kim Jungkook, was married to Member of Parliament Kim Taehyung? They had gotten married, yet Taehyung still kept up the guise of being a bachelor. Some of the omegas in their class would often comment, “If someone like Minister Kim Taehyung proposed to me, I’d say yes in a heartbeat! He’s so good looking, despite his tan complexion.” Comments like these only irked Jungkook more, especially when the age gap between them became a topic of fascination.

It hadn’t been long since his university had started, and neither Jungkook nor Jimin had gotten to know many people. They hadn’t disclosed their relationship to anyone, either.

“Why do you keep lying?” Mingyu asked, turning to Jimin, clearly amused.

“Why would I lie? He’s my older brother’s legal wife.” Jimin said, glaring at him.
Laughing, Mingyu retorted, “And what’s your brother going to do if I pursue him?” Jimin, brimming with annoyance, shot back, “He’ll break every bone in your body. My brother has been obsessed with him for years, and you think you can waltz in and claim him after two days of infatuation?”
