The bell rang, signaling the end of the art period. Ishan smiled at the class. “Since you have a free period, you can head out if you’d like.”
The students packed up quickly, excited to leave. Abhishek was the first out, heading straight to Mayank. Soon, the room was empty—except for Shubman, who stayed behind, pretending to work on his sketch.
Ishan remained at his desk, focused on some unfinished lesson plans. He didn’t notice Shubman undoing the top three buttons of his shirt, exposing his toned chest.
*Shubman's oufit*
Shubman picked up one of his incomplete art pieces, smirking slightly, and walked over to Ishan’s desk. “Sir?” he called softly.
Ishan looked up, his gentle doe eyes meeting Shubman’s sharp gaze. “Yes, Shubman? Need help?”
“Yeah,” Shubman said, holding out his sketch. “This one’s giving me trouble. Thought you might have some tips to make it better.”
Ishan gestured for him to sit. “Of course, let’s take a look.”
As Ishan studied the sketch and began explaining techniques, Shubman leaned a little closer, his voice low and smooth. “By the way, sir, that outfit today—it really brings out your charm. You’ve got great taste.”
*Ishan's outfit*
Ishan blinked, slightly surprised. “Oh, thank you, Shubman. That’s kind of you to say.” His cheeks turned a faint shade of pink.Shubman grinned, pleased. “You know, sir, with those eyes and that gentle voice, you’d make a great model for, uh... certain types of art.”
Ishan tilted his head, confused. “Oh? Like portraits?”
Shubman bit back a laugh. “Something like that, sir.”
They continued discussing the sketch, with Shubman occasionally slipping in more double-meaning comments.
“Your hands are so precise, sir,” Shubman said, watching Ishan demonstrate a shading technique. “Bet they’re steady no matter what... activity you’re doing.”
Ishan smiled innocently. “Yes, it’s important for an artist to have steady hands. Practice makes perfect!”
Shubman smirked, shaking his head slightly at Ishan’s obliviousness.
Shubman leaned back slightly, amused by how easily Ishan misinterpreted his words. The blush on his teacher’s cheeks was just an added bonus.
As they wrapped up, Shubman finally stood,“Thanks for the help, sir,” he said with a sly grin. “You always know how to bring out the best in us.”
Ishan nodded, smiling. “That’s what I’m here for.”
As Shubman walked out, he chuckled softly to himself. Completely clueless, he thought, already planning his next move.
As Shubman stepped out of the classroom, he spotted Abhishek at a distance, leaning casually against the wall with his usual goofy grin plastered on his face. He was talking to Mayank, who seemed a bit shy but still engaged in the conversation.
This idiot is at it again, Shubman thought, rolling his eyes as he made his way over.
Mayank noticed Shubman approaching and nudged Abhishek slightly. “Your friend is coming,” he said softly, his eyes flicking toward Shubman.
Shubman stopped beside them, glancing briefly at Abhishek before turning to Mayank. “Hey,” he said casually.
Mayank gave a polite nod. “Hi. Uh, is Ishan sir still in the classroom?”
Shubman smirked. “Yeah, he’s still there.”
“Great,” Mayank replied, excusing himself. “I needed his help with something. See you later, Abhishek.”
As Mayank walked off, Abhishek’s grin quickly turned into a scowl. He shot a glare at Shubman. “Seriously? What was that for? You just had to ruin my moment, didn’t you?”
Shubman scoffed, crossing his arms. “Please. He was looking for an excuse to leave. I just made it easier for him.”
Abhishek narrowed his eyes, clearly not buying it. “Right. Because he totally wasn’t enjoying the conversation.”
Shubman shrugged, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Sure, keep telling yourself that. "Aur Mayank Ko college join kiye hue 2 din bhi nahi hue hai aur to Abhi se line marna chalu ho Gaya".
Abhishek raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk. “Ha, Jese ki Ishan sir to 10 saal se yahi kaam kar rahe ho hai na".
Shubman’s smirk faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered. “That’s different,” he said, brushing off the comment.
Abhishek leaned in, grinning. “Yeah, yeah. Keep telling yourself that, Shubman.”
Shubman just rolled his eyes, but deep down, Abhishek’s jab hit closer to home than he’d like to admit.
Shubman, trying to steer the conversation away from himself, smirked and nudged Abhishek. “Forget about all that. Let’s do something fun. How about we pull a prank on one of the teachers? Could be epic.”
Abhishek raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. “Yeah? And when Ishan sir finds out, what then? You think he’s going to be impressed by you being the trouble maker?”
Shubman’s smirk faltered. “He won’t find out.”
Abhishek leaned in, lowering his voice dramatically. “Oh really? Like he didn’t find out when you busted crackers in the girls’ washroom? Or when you dumped paint on that science teacher?”
Shubman chuckled despite himself. “Okay, fair point.”
“And let’s not forget the remote-control snake incident,” Abhishek added, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
At the mention of it, both of them burst out laughing.
“Man, do you remember Mrs. Sharma?” Shubman said, struggling to contain his laughter. “She screamed so loud and climbed onto the desk like her life depended on it.”
Abhishek doubled over, laughing harder. “And she was stuck there, yelling for help because she thought it was real. I swear, the whole class lost it.”
Shubman wiped a tear from the corner of his eye, his laughter dying down. “Good times, man.”
Abhishek nodded, grinning. “Yeah, but seriously, if Ishan sir ever hears about that stuff, you’re done for. No way he’d be into a ‘bad boy’ student causing chaos.”
Shubman sighed, leaning against the wall. “Fine, fine. No more pranks. For now.”
Abhishek smirked. “For now,” he echoed, still chuckling at the memory of their antics.
