The living room was bathed in a warm, golden hue as the movie played softly in the background. Ishan sat curled on the sofa, his fingers gently running through Shubman's hair, who had his head resting comfortably on Ishan's lap. Shubman looked unusually relaxed, his eyes half-closed, enjoying the warmth of Ishan's touch and the calming lull of the TV.
Just then, Shubman's phone buzzed on the coffee table.
With a little groan, he reached for it, glanced at the screen, and swiped to answer. "Hello?"
"Bro!" came Abhishek's cheerful voice through the speaker. "You free for the next couple of days?"
"Kind of," Shubman replied, his voice still lazy and soft. "Why?"
"I was thinking-let's head to the beach. Two-day mini holiday, all of us."
Shubman's brows rose slightly. "Hmm... that actually sounds perfect."
"Right?" Abhishek laughed. "We'll plan it properly after lunch, cool?"
"Yeah, sounds good." Shubman ended the call and turned his head slightly to look up at Ishan, who was already peeking down curiously.
"That was Abhishek," Shubman said with a small smile, "He's asking if we'd like to hang out at a beachside place for the next two days."
Ishan's face lit up instantly, his fingers pausing in Shubman's hair. "That's such a great idea! I'd love to go!"
Shubman chuckled, watching the excitement dance in Ishan's eyes. "Hmm, I thought you'd say that." He reached up and softly tapped Ishan's nose. "We'll discuss it properly after lunch, okay?"
"Okay," Ishan nodded, smiling down at him.
Shubman turned his head and nestled it back into Ishan's lap with a content sigh. Ishan resumed stroking his hair as they both returned their attention to the screen.
After a quick discussion and some excited planning, everything was set. They booked a two-day stay at a famous beach resort known for its golden sands and lively boardwalk. The next morning, bags packed and sunglasses ready, the four of them gathered outside Shubman’s house.
Shubman decided to take one of his best cars for the trip—a sleek black SUV, perfect for a long, comfortable ride.
“Alright, let’s roll!” Shubman grinned, tossing his bag into the trunk before climbing into the backseat with Abhishek. Ishan slipped into the passenger seat beside Mayank, who was assigned the role of driver.
The journey began smoothly, the early morning sun painting everything in soft gold. For the first half an hour, it was peaceful... until Abhishek reached forward, cranked up the speakers, and blasted a loud, upbeat song that made the car practically vibrate.
Shubman, never one to miss a chance for chaos, immediately joined in. He leaned over from the backseat, ruffling Ishan’s hair and singing loudly (and very off-key) into an imaginary mic.
Ishan laughed uncontrollably, trying to fix his hair while also dodging Shubman's playful antics. “You both are crazy!” he said, giggling, watching them through the rearview mirror.
Mayank, on the other hand, kept his hands steadily on the wheel, only sighing in mock exhaustion. “I feel like I’m babysitting toddlers,” he muttered, though a fond smile tugged at his lips.
“Come on Mayu, live a little!” Abhishek teased, reaching forward to mess up Mayank’s neatly styled hair, earning an unamused glare from him.
