I groaned in pain as I felt my body flying against my bedroom wall, grabbing my side in pain.
"Rude..." I groaned the words out, "way to formally say hello..."
I can't believe I'm using humor out of all things to cope with the pain in my bones right now.
The creature growled, showing it's teeth, and running it's tongue along the fangs.
I guess he wasn't actually formally saying hello, since the body he decided to possess this time, was... honestly, what was that? In both my lives, I have never seen a monster, and I've lived two lives! In my defense, though, I was living in Seoul since a couple months ago.
When-
How-
honestly I'm not even going to bother figuring out how he managed to bring it here without getting it killed by the knights.
Speaking of the knights... I wonder how Aias has been getting through all these attacks, because, damn, I'm already out of breath.
I looked up at the creature - standing on it's two feet, and look at that, it is six feet tall. Just my luck.
I scanned my surroundings for something - anything - that can be used as a weapon, but saw nothing whatsoever.
Then it hit me. This isn't a nightmare with no escape, and I'm not alone.
My scream erupted from my throat, surely travelling throughout the whole ducal estate.
The creature glared at me, before the footsteps of the guards sounded, and it jumped to the window, looking back at me once more before jumping out.
The two knights burst through the door just to see the curtains blowing from the wind and him escaping.
"My lady, are you alright?"
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry. I thought I saw an intruder." I was on my feet now, already chuckling nervously hoping they'd leave now that it was over.
One of the guards who I assumed was the superior, barked out some orders about searching every room and the garden, before bowing to me and leaving, shutting the door gently behind him.
I plopped down on my bed, still a bit shaken up, but atleast I wasn't crying. At least I wasn't pleading for him to spare me like I do in my nightmares.
Atleast I wasn't dead.
My thighs ached from my fall, and I almost tried using my powers I still haven't got to use, before remembering what eight year old Althea mentioned in one of her diary's entries, and thinking better of it. Instead, I pulled the sheets back up, the feeling bringing me security and a sense of safety.
Here, I wasn't alone, and that's what mattered. This is reality, not a nightmare.
