It'll be alright, love

Vanessa's POV

I waited for a cab to come but it took a really long time. So I called Zayn and asked him to come and pick me up.

He came in a couple of minutes.

I got into his Range Rover.

"So what happened Vanessa?" He asked, his eyes not leaving the road.

I didn't reply. I didn't want to. I just wanted to be alone. I just buried my face in my palms and cried.

"Hey are you okay?" He asked.

I didn't reply.

Then he drove in silence. A few minutes later we reached home. His home.

As we got in the house I realized the kids were alone at home.

"Zayn! You left the kids alone at-" I started.

"I know, I know. I called up Niall to come and just babysit them while I was gone." He said. Then he saw the scar on my face. "Hey what happened on your face?"

Before I could reply, I heard someone come down the stairs. Niall. It was Niall.

"So you're back. Shall I go?" He asked.

"Yeah you can. Thanks." Zayn said as he opened the door for him to leave.

As Niall left, I asked Zayn, "What the heck is Niall doing here at three in the morning?"

"I told you, he came to babysit the kids." He said coolly.

"He came here in the middle of the night only to babysit the kids?" I asked.

"Actually no." He said. "He had left his jacket here. So he came to take that. So I put him on duty because he owed me one."

"Oh ok." I said, as I started walking towards the stairs that lead to the bedroom.

"So what happened to your cheek?" He asked as he grabbed my wrist.

"It's just.....It's....Nevermind." I said.

"C'mon. Tell me. Okay at least tell me what happened at Alex's house." He said.

I winced as I heard his name.

"Did he..did he do that to you?" He said as a tear rolled down my cheek.

I didn't respond. I knew I didn't need to. I just put my head on his chest and sobbed. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist. Then he slowly stroked my hair as he said, "It's okay. Let's get you to bed."

He picked me up in a bridal style and carried me to the bedroom and lied me down on my side of the bed. He kissed my forehead and said, "It'll be alright, love. It'll be alright."
