Hello...again

Vanessa's POV

"Mom!" Emily said as she hugged my legs.

I was at Emily's school to pick her up.

"Hi Honey." I said, smiling. "How was school today?"

"It was awesome, mommy! I met this girl named Melissa. She is so nice. She also asked if we could have a play date." She asked.

"Sure! We can have a play date with her. But have you got her mommy's number? Because we have to check with her to know if she's okay with it." I said.

"Melissa said she doesn't have a mommy. But I got her dad's number." She said as she opened up her pink Strawberry Shortcake backpack and took out one of her coloring books. Then she opened one of thr pages and showed me the number.

I noted it down on my phone.

"Go upstairs and change your clothes, while I call her dad." I said as she ran to her room.

I dialed the number.

"Hello?"

"Hey. Is this Melissa's dad?"

"Yes. Who's this?"

"Hey I'm Vanessa. I'm Melissa's friend Emily's mom."

"Vanessa! It's Adam. We met today. At the school."He said.

"Adam! Hey. I was just wondering if Melissa and Emily could have a play date."

"Sure. I was gonna call you. Melissa was telling me about Emily and how she was awesome." He said.

"Aww. So when are we keeping the play date?" I asked.

"How about this Saturday?"

"Sure. Can you text me the address?"

"Yeah. Okay now I gotta go. Bye and have a nice day." He said.

"Bye." I said as I disconnected the phone.
