Even though Mark didn't want to follow Jeno's advice, because he's younger and less experienced, you know, he did consider at least half of it.
The vampire wanted to find out where Donghyuck lived. It was nothing personal, but useful enough information since Mark didn't feel like disturbing Donghyuck's job anymore. He guessed that the last time the bat incident happened, the human delivered the pizza later than needed. Mark didn't want Donghyuck to get scolded by the manager. What if it affects his blood?
Mark observed him working in the pizza place, learned more about his schedule, and then followed the human when he left for home. It couldn't be easier because Donghyuck did that on foot. Flying past him, the vampire kept landing on the trees and roofs, waiting for the human to catch up until he saw his target going to a cheap apartment complex.
So, now Mark was sitting on a branch and trying to learn how often Donghyuck opened his bedroom window. To the vampire's misfortune, that never happened. He tried to see if, perhaps, a bathroom window was opened, but that thing had a net which didn't help at all.
One time Mark saw Donghyuck opening the window late at night. However, his window was a tilt-and-turn type of window and he loved opening it slightly, tilting it into the room which made the gap quite narrow. Well, Mark thought it was wide but when he tried to get in, he realized he was a thick boy. A thick bat boy. Only his head fit while the butt was left to hang outside. Mark had to try his best to free himself when he saw Donghyuck getting closer. Luckily, he managed to fly off before a stupid window could kill him. The human closed it so quickly, not even checking if the gap was empty.
Mark didn't give up. It seemed like he really wanted Donghyuck's precious blood as, after one failure with the window, Mark wanted to retry after a few days and finally make it work. Or maybe he was just a vampire perfectionist.
He sat on his favorite branch until he saw Donghyuck going to the bathroom to shower. Then it was the vampire's time to shine! He did nothing to change his figure because it wasn't his thick belly here to blame but the freaking window. A window that was obviously made by humans, not vampires! Vampires make everything twice wider for friendly purposes.
So, Mark tried to get inside by using different strategies. He did it sideways, started from his butt, tried to pull on the window to see if it was stuck or not. It was hard to achieve what he wanted. Mark got annoyed. He was hangry now.
"I really don't want to do this, but..." he shook his head, looking at a stupid fly on the other side of Donghyuck's windowsill.
Out of his brothers, he was the worst in using other powers than transforming into a bat and hypnotizing humans. The bat form was the only one he could do fast enough as he was born with it, but he couldn't easily transform into other living beings as he lacked imagination for that, which was offensive to a vampire who was a journalist! He could easily hypnotize and control humans because he just needed to talk to them and get access to their bodies. The hardest was possessing those beings such as animals and controlling them.
Too bad he had no other choice. Mark focused on the fly and tried his best to possess the poor thing. He then closed his eyes, and the view was different when he opened them.
He was a fly.
Was it that easy?
No.
Mark looked at the other side of the window, seeing how the bat was bumping into the window like a fly. It was already outside and it still did it!
"It happened again," Mark facepalmed with his fly leg.
Yeah, whenever he tried to possess other living beings, they switched bodies instead. It once happened with a cat and it was an experience he wanted to forget... He switched bodies with a cat, but unlike now, he then was in his actual form, so the cat, looking like a human, freaked out and tried getting into a tree, while Mark, in the cat's body, stared at the scene in horror. If only he could erase his memory at times.
