Mark wasn't surprised to see the Night Amnesia theme on the news. It happened occasionally as bitten humans contacted their doctors, scared of the sudden blackouts. Then the doctors accidentally talked to others and somehow this landed right into the thirsty press's hands. People who lived in Mark's area, however, had no clue that something had happened to them as the vampires around always made sure to take care of them after sucking their blood. So, at least humans didn't lie in the middle of the street like some vampires liked to leave them. Also, they all agreed to feed on humans coming late from work as the blackout was usually confused with exhaustion.

However, this time the news had something interesting to share. Mark sat calmly on his sofa and ate potato chips when the news reporter mentioned some marks. He felt a sudden wave of anxiety and it only got worse when the picture was shown. It was a human arm with two marks of a vampire's fangs. Right after the photo, many theories were thrown at the screen, and passengers that got questioned replied that it was a new type of needle for drugs and that was the reason Night Amnesia even happened—druggies often didn't remember what they did last night (yeah, druggies wearing suits and coming late from work). The doctors tried to explain that it was a skin disease and it wasn't needles or fangs, but holes that were caused by the intense scrubbing of skin (like, what? How is that even possible?)! Some nature lovers claimed Night Amnesia had nothing to do with this. The marks were the new mosquitos' job (so do mosquitos have teeth?). In short, as always humans started useless theories.

But even when they sounded stupid, they were smart enough to notice the marks as well as blackouts and memory loss. It was bad news for the vampires. Mark's phone started buzzing—as expected, the vampire group chat flooded with desperate messages. Everyone agreed to be careful or at least try to bite some less visible places.

Mark contacted his brothers. They were terrified just like him. Jeno claimed that after seeing the news, Jaemin started to notice the marks too.

"He's going to the doctor right now. I'm scared that they might find my saliva!"

"That's impossible. Jaemin must've washed up that already," Taeyong tried to calm Jeno down. "Also... why are you drooling when drinking blood?"

Mark wished Donghyuck hadn't seen the news or hadn't talked to people which was already absurd for the vampire to hope. Or even if he did and had already noticed the marks on his body too, he showered and washed off Mark's DNA. Because... even though he wasn't drooling, saliva could still be found, and this would be a disaster. The DNA of a vampire is similar to human's, but let's be realistic, it's way better, and if any human got their hands on a vampire's genetic code and its richness, they wouldn't find any data. The vampires weren't registered anywhere. They lived, did taxes, and faked documents to look like real citizens. All of this would expose them!

The next day was the worst, though. Mark kind of knew that his boss would contact him and ask him to write about Night Amnesia and include new theories as well as marks. Mark had already written about this phenomenon and his articles were popular, so he couldn't back away.

But there was more.

"I want you to interview the guy who has these marks. Other newspapers went ahead of us and questioned several people! We're falling behind."

It came so unexpectedly that Mark was left speechless.

"Mr. Lee?"

"Uh, yes! I think I can," Mark replied just as he pinched himself.

Wasn't it funny that a victim of Night Amnesia was about to be sent to one of the culprits, a vampire journalist? If Mark were sinister, he would feed on this guy.

"Alright, then I'll send you his phone number."

"Excuse me, but can you tell me his name? I think I can already start writing—"
