Since Mark knew Donghyuck's number, he texted the human about bank stuff, to find out where to transfer money. Their conversation was very cold as the young man was sassy and sarcastic. Mark didn't get annoyed even for a second. He let Donghyuck be as both need what they've arranged.
The vampire was productive as always after getting a good amount of blood. He wrote a few articles in advance and couldn't be happier when one he just published blew up. It was about Night Amnesia, but Mark tried convincing people that it couldn't be vampires. He just wished to succeed and change humans' minds. Because their accuracy was scaring him and other vampires. They didn't need garlic to be placed in every corner of the city. That would be... bothersome.
He was free after he published a few more articles and it took him two days. Because of that Mark had some time to think about his future and it wasn't that hard. He thought about meeting with Donghyuck. Mark texted Donghyuck, asking when he could come. He got no answer, but that wasn't a burden. Maybe because Mark knew where Donghyuck lived.
In a bat form, he flew to the human's apartment complex and just stuck around. The window was dark, with not even a single soul inside. Mark then remembered that at such time, which was 10 PM, Donghyuck had to be working as a pizza delivery guy. Mark had thought about visiting the human there, but brushed it off and just sat in the tree, waiting for the latter's appearance.
Donghyuck reached his apartment building on foot, around 11 PM. He looked exhausted as he strolled toward the door. Before he could reach it, Mark jumped from the tree and changed into his usual form in mid-air. He got to the ground with a faint sound, but Donghyuck still heard it and turned around.
Whatever he expected to see wasn't Mark obviously. As his eyes locked on the vampire, he rolled them as if he were the most hateful thing in the world.
"Do you have more rules to tell me or..."
"The latter."
"I didn't even say it."
"We both know what it is. Let's go to your apartment."
Donghyuck opened the door and pushed it to the side until it hit the wall. He walked inside and then looked over his shoulder in amusement, seeing Mark still standing where he had last been seen.
"Don't tell me you can't get inside unless I tell you."
"That's old news," Mark scoffed as he stepped into the building with no worries. "Only a thousand-year-olds fear this," he whispered as he got closer to Donghyuck.
The human stepped back and fastened his steps to the elevator. Mark didn't want to get squeezed by the elevator door or even worse, break it, as the doors never reacted to someone like a vampire, so he rushed to get inside with Donghyuck. Although they seemingly did pretty well, despite the human's bitter remarks, Donghyuck suddenly became one with the elevator wall, as if to make the distance between them bigger, and forced a smile.
Mark took it too personally.
"Are you scared of me?"
"What a weird question. Of course not," Donghyuck laughed. "I'm inside the elevator with a vampire... and I'm really excited!"
Scared and talking sarcastically?
"Fair enough," Mark sighed. "I mean, that you're scared of me. Legends made us look like monsters."
"And books and movies made vampires hot for no reason."
Mark shrugged his shoulders although it did bother him how humans turned vampires into hot machines who, later on, fall in love with humans. Impossible. Falling in love with humans and falling in love in general.
