Since chasing like that was pointless, Mark gave Donghyuck false hope while disappearing out of his sight.

He let the human think that he had successfully run away from him, but Mark followed him closely behind in bat form. Because of that, he managed to get inside the apartment building just as Donghyuck opened the front door. Once inside, Mark let him pass by, then jumped on his jacket, and using his claws, he kept himself stuck on the fabric.

Together they got into the elevator. Mark had to change the spot and slip inside the human's pocket as Donghyuck leaned back at the elevator wall. The vampire thought he'd be quiet, but then Donghyuck breathed heavily and delivered a tirade of nasty words in monologue. Mark was still confused, unable to explain how and why his human was still under stress when he tried so many things on him.

Just as the door of the elevator opened, Donghyuck ran out and rushed to his apartment. While his hands were shaking violently, he still pulled out a key, luckily, from the opposite pocket than Mark was in, and hurriedly unlocked the door, almost storming inside. Slamming and locking his door, he turned all the lights on and let his back slide down the door.

"Finally," he mumbled.

Since Donghyuck buried his head in his hands, he failed to see how a bat dropped on his floor and turned into a human. Mark fixed his hair with a single hand brush against his always stubborn hair and stood there in silence as he avoided scaring the human. But Donghyuck got scared more when he suddenly removed his hands from his face and saw Mark out of the blue, especially when he expected to see him the less.

Donghyuck froze at first but then quickly fell out of shock. His eyes widened and he burst into tears right away. He stood up and tried to grab the door handle, forgetting the door was locked, and even though he wouldn't escape anyway, Mark still stopped him.

"Let's talk."

"Leave me alone!" the human yelled, sitting there straight as if the door behind his back could protect him. "How do you keep catching up with me?"

Mark saw how Donghyuck glanced at the closed window. Maybe he thought he got there like this. He had no idea he had carried him.

"Are you a vampire?" Donghyuck mumbled, his lips quivering. "Yeah, you must be a vampire... You drank her blood and can go through walls. You're also hot, so..."

Mark found the last statement funny and weird at the same time therefore he smirked. Donghyuck thought he distracted the unwanted guest and jumped on his feet, taking the chance to run further into the room. He then grabbed the first thing he found, which happened to be a hard-cover book, and threw it at Mark.

The vampire dodged it without any problems, making Donghyuck's eyes widen.

"You really are!"

He grabbed a broom, clenching it in his hands. The quiver that kept controlling his body concerned Mark. He was so scared...

"Don't come any closer or else I'll have to use it!"

"Mr. Lee," Mark spoke in a calm tone. "You can keep holding that during our conversation, but this broom isn't any scarier than the book you just threw."

"What conversation? I told you I didn't see anything!"

"But then you claim I'm a vampire..."

Even though Mark just caught Donghyuck lying, the latter didn't consider it a problem. The worst problem for the human was nothing else than having the vampire in his room.

"So... are you?"

"Do you think I am?"

Donghyuck stared at Mark, then glanced at the bedside table. He slowly walked there and opened the first drawer, still holding the broom in another hand. Donghyuck pulled out a mirror and turned to Mark, looking at it from above.
