60 – Proudly loved

Freen's POV

"So, how was the makeup sex?" Nam asked, her words slicing through the peaceful rhythm of our dinner. We were back in our apartment, and I'd asked Becky to stay for the meal.

"Naaaam!" I yelped, feeling my cheeks burn.

Becky, unfazed, smirked. "It was incredible," she said, tilting her neck and pulling her turtle neck just enough to reveal the traces of hickey I made on her skin, she's clearly proud of it, while I died of shame.

I swatted her thigh under the table. "Babe!"

She shrugged innocently, though the mischievous glint in her eyes betrayed her. "What? Just telling the truth."

Nam burst out laughing, leaning back in her chair with a grin. "Makeup sex is the best, Freen. Don't be shy," she teased, winking. The smugness radiating from her was infectious, making me want to crawl under the table and hide.

"Hon, stop teasing your bunny," Mind chided, giving Nam a playful nudge as she shook her head. "Not everyone needs to know every detail."

But Nam wasn't done. She grinned at me with that familiar, all-knowing look, as if daring me to deny it. "Come on, bunny, you seemed to have marked your territory well, seeing that Becky is all wrapped up in clothes."

Becky's cheeks flushed a deeper pink as she tugged the collar of her sweater, pretending to shield herself from Nam's playful gaze. "What can I say? Freen's got a bit of a possessive streak," she teased back, shooting me a wink.

Nam leaned in, eyes sparkling. "Possessive, huh? Guess it's true what they say—the quiet ones are the wildest," she chuckled.

"Okay, enough," I protested, trying to stifle my smile. But my fingers tightened around Becky's hand under the table, feeling the warmth of her skin, a secret connection between us that made my heart flutter.

Nam relented with a knowing smirk, raising her glass in a playful toast. "To the wild ones, and the ones who love them."

Becky lifted her glass, a soft smile playing at her lips as her eyes met mine. "To the chaos," she murmured, her gaze brimming with affection, "and the peace that follows."

Nam took a sip of her drink, eyeing me thoughtfully. "So, Freen," she began, her tone casual, but there was an underlying curiosity in her eyes. "Are you coming with us this weekend? It's Mom's birthday, and she's already asking if her favorite niece is joining us."

I froze for a moment, caught off guard by the question. The weekend had slipped my mind entirely with everything else going on. But Nam's mention of her mother, my aunt Nida, made my heart soften.

I glanced at Becky, unsure. "I hadn't really planned on it," I admitted, feeling a little guilty. "But I'd love to. The entire family is gonna be there. I haven't been home since Mama Nun's birthday anyway."

Nam's eyes lit up, clearly excited. "Great, you should bring Becky and officially introduce her to the family as your girlfriend."

I felt Becky stiffen beside me, her body suddenly rigid as if the words had knocked the air out of her. She turned to me, her gaze unreadable, and for a moment, everything around us seemed to slow down, the tension thick in the air.

Becky's voice came out softly, her usual confidence replaced by a rare uncertainty. "Wait... are you sure? I mean, we haven't really talked about..." Her words trailed off, and she glanced at Nam, clearly flustered.

Nam, oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere, grinned. "Come on, it's about time everyone knows, right?" she teased lightly. "Plus, our cousin's been asking about you—everyone's gonna be thrilled to see you back, even more as bunny's girl."
