10 – A new Becky!

The next morning dawned with a relentless headache and a hazy memory of the bar's antics from the night before. Pulling herself out of bed, Freen navigated towards the kitchen, lured by the tempting scent of breakfast wafting through the air. Surely, Nam was already up and at it, whipping up her famous morning fare.

In the kitchen, Freen discovered Nam humming softly to herself, deftly flipping pancakes on the stove. Despite the throbbing ache in her head, the sight brought a small smile to Freen's lips.

"Morning," Freen croaked, her voice gravelly from a night of laughter and dehydration.

Nam turned with a grin, mischief twinkling in her eyes. "It was a rough night, huh?"

Freen winced, memories of their spontaneous beach escapade flooding back. "You could say that."

Nam chuckled, placing a plate of pancakes before Freen. "Well, at least we made it back in one piece."

Accepting the plate gratefully, Freen dug in, finding solace in the warmth of the food as it eased her hangover woes. Amidst the comforting bites, Nam's teasing couldn't be ignored.

"So, about Becky..." Nam trailed off, a knowing glint in her eye.

Internally, Freen groaned, bracing herself for the inevitable interrogation. "What about her?"

Nam raised an eyebrow, her smirk growing. "Oh, nothing. Just curious about your sudden vanishing act with our new acquaintance."

As Freen attempted to alleviate her hangover with a glass of water, Nam leaned casually against the kitchen counter, her teasing tone persistent.

"So, spill it," Nam prodded, a playful glint lighting up her eyes. "Who's this mysterious Becky?"

Freen sighed, knowing Nam wouldn't let up until she got some answers. " Becky is actually from the advertising agency I've been working with recently- she's the marketing manager. Then I saw her crying at the restroom, I offered to listen. We got to talking, and well, you know how it goes."

Nam raised an eyebrow, her grin widening. "Oh, I know how it goes. But from the way you two disappeared, it seemed like more than just a casual chat."

Freen's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she tried to deflect Nam's insistent questioning. "It wasn't like that, Nam. We were just talking, she need it. And then I lost track of time. That's all."

Nam wasn't convinced, her grin remaining firmly in place. "Sure, sure. But just so you know, Becky is a hottie."

Freen's eyes widened in surprise at Nam's blunt observation. "What? How would you even say that?"

Nam shrugged casually; her tone nonchalant. "I have eyes, don't I? And besides, it's hard to miss when someone's easy on the eyes."

"Yes, Nam, you do have eyes! But you also have a friend in a throbbing headache—so please!" Freen retorted, playfully nudging her best friend.

Nam chuckled at Freen's playful retort, her grin widening. "Alright, alright, I'll behave. Since we are already friends, maybe you should invite her to one of our gatherings sometime."

"I don't know, Nam. I think it's awkward, she's literally my boss" Freen replied.

Nam raised an eyebrow, her expression mischievous. "Come on, Freen. There's nothing wrong with it. It's not like you're gonna use her. Be professional during the job, then be friends outside it. And who knows? Maybe she'll fit right in with our crazy bunch."
