Yesterday was a big day for me—I finally had my X-ray to check how my leg was healing. The doctor seemed impressed with how well I'd kept up with my exercises and said I could start walking on it, carefully, of course. It was such a relief to hear I was finally making progress, though I still have to rely on my crutches for a bit longer.
Today, I'm out in the desert near Morocco for a photoshoot and a video shoot. The location is stunning, with endless dunes and that intense, rugged landscape stretching as far as the eye can see. And the best part? Kimi is here with me. After Kyra and Leah left a few days ago, home's felt a bit too quiet, so seeing Kimi again is like a burst of energy.
As soon as he spots me, Kimi waves, already holding up his camera with a mischievous grin. "Alright, superstar, let's get this started! I'm filming a '24 hours in the life of Blair Becks' vlog. My audience needs to see what you get up to!"
I laugh, rolling my eyes as he aims the camera at me. "Oh, really? You think anyone's interested in what I do all day?"
"Trust me," he says, nodding seriously, "everyone wants to know how you survive without constantly breaking something else."
We're out here for a quad trip, and the second I spot the quads lined up on the sand, my eyes light up. I've always loved riding quads—it's that perfect mix of thrill and freedom. I know my leg's not fully healed, and it's probably not the best idea, but the temptation is too strong. I decide I'll ride one, just not for too long. Kimi raises an eyebrow as he watches me eyeing the quads.
"Are you sure you're up for this?" he asks, a mix of concern and challenge in his voice.
I shrug. "What's life without a little risk?" I flash him a grin, grabbing a helmet and hopping onto one of the quads. "Besides, I've been dying for a real race."
Kimi laughs, setting up his own camera to catch every second. "Oh, so you think you're going to beat me on that leg?"
I smirk, revving the quad's engine, feeling the familiar hum under my fingers. "Guess we'll see, won't we?"
With that, we both take off, tearing across the desert. The wind rushes past me, and the sun beats down, but all I feel is the thrill. We're racing, pushing the quads to their limits over the rolling dunes. My leg's protesting a bit, but I keep going, feeling the rush as I pull ahead of Kimi, who's laughing and yelling something I can't hear over the roar of our engines.
After a few intense minutes, we finally stop, both of us catching our breath. Kimi's still filming, capturing every sweaty, adrenaline-fueled moment. "You're insane," he says, laughing as he claps me on the back. "You actually beat me."
I laugh, feeling more alive than I have in days. "Told you! Never underestimate me."
"Alright," he says, still recording, "we're calling it here, because if I let you keep going, your doctor is going to kill me. Let's get back to base, superstar."
As we head back, I realize how much I needed this—both the rush and Kimi's company. Even with everything going on, moments like this remind me of why I love what I do.
After a short break, I change into the next outfit—a loose white linen shirt, long shorts, and a scarf wrapped around my head to shield me from the intense desert sun instead of a helmet. The outfit is simple, but with the golden desert as the backdrop, it somehow feels striking, almost timeless. The fabric is light, allowing the breeze to catch it, adding a sense of movement to the shots.
I head back to the quads, and the photographer waves me over with an excited look. "Blair, this look is perfect. We'll get a few relaxed shots, then some action shots with the quad—ready?"
