The bathroom was warm and steamy, the mirror slightly fogged up from the shower. Kyra handed me a towel as I stepped out, a small smile playing on her lips as she wrapped one around herself.

"Thanks," I murmured, rubbing the towel through my damp hair.

She moved to stand in front of the mirror, her hands running through her wet hair, and I couldn't help but watch her. There was something so effortless about her beauty, the way she carried herself with that quiet confidence that made my chest ache in the best way.

I stepped up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist and resting my chin on her shoulder. The reflection of us in the mirror made me smile—a tangled, damp-haired mess, but together, and that's all that mattered.

Kyra tilted her head slightly, her eyes meeting mine in the mirror. "What are you looking at?" she asked softly, her voice teasing but warm.

I smiled, brushing my nose against her cheek. "Just us. We look great together."

She laughed lightly, leaning back into me. "That's your observation after all this? That we 'look great together?'"

"Hey, I'm just saying what's true," I said with a grin, pressing a kiss to her bare shoulder.

Kyra rolled her eyes playfully, her smile never fading. "You're ridiculous."

"Ridiculously in love with you," I countered, earning a soft laugh from her.

I glanced at the towel draped around her shoulders and then at the both of us in the mirror, my fingers brushing lightly against the soft fabric of her towel.

"We're clean now," I said, my gaze drifting back to the mirror. "But I think your family want to go to the beach later."

Kyra raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a mischievous smile. "Sounds like an excuse to get me back in the water."

"Maybe," I said with a smirk, meeting her gaze in the mirror.

She turned fully in my arms, her hands resting on my chest as her eyes softened. "And here I thought you just wanted an excuse to take another shower with me."

Her words were laced with teasing, but the glint in her eyes made my stomach flutter.

"I'd never say no to that," I replied, my voice low as I nodded, my gaze flicking to her lips.

She smiled, that slow, knowing smile that always made me weak, and I leaned in, capturing her lips in a soft, lingering kiss.

Her hands slid up to my shoulders, her touch gentle but grounding as I deepened the kiss slightly. When I pulled back, I pressed another kiss to her forehead, my lips lingering there as my hands rested on her hips.

"You're impossible," I murmured, my voice filled with affection.

"And you love it," she whispered, her smile widening as she looked up at me.

I nodded, my forehead resting against hers for a moment as the warmth of her presence wrapped around me. "I do," I said softly.

For a few minutes, we stayed like that, the quiet intimacy of the moment settling over us like a warm blanket. And as Kyra's fingers brushed lightly against my arms, I couldn't help but think that there was no place I'd rather be than right here with her.

I made my way downstairs, the sound of distant laughter filtering in through the open windows. The air smelled like freshly brewed coffee and something sweet—probably Jessica's baking again.

"Morning!" I called, stepping into the kitchen and spotting Jessica pouring herself a cup of tea.

She smiled at me, her expression warm. "Morning, Blair. Everyone's out back."
