Hello readers, this is a Miles POV. Enjoy!

Miles sat in his office quietly, sipping on his afternoon tea he flipped back and forth through his files. It was a peaceful day, not much had happened. More importantly, Miles hadn't gotten a word from Phoenix at all for the past week. After his little speech on growing closer, Miles worried that maybe it wasn't true, after all it had been a week since he had heard anything from Phoenix. Lately, it had been Franziska  describing all the wonderful things she had been doing with Maya, she had even taken time off to be able to hang out with Maya more. No matter how worried Miles was about his own situation he was still happy his little sister had managed to finally grow closer to someone.

Whilst he was deep in thought a small ping came from his phone. Looking at the notification a rush of excitement emerged in his body. Just seeing that name sparked joy in Miles. He quickly unlocked his phone to answer the message, he wanted to get an answer before it was too late.

Hey Miles. - Phoenix

Phoenix! Why do you message me today? - Miles

Well... I have a small surprise for you. - Phoenix

Oh really? What is it? - Miles

Sorry could you unlock your door please? Thanks - Phoenix

Unlock his door! Miles had forgotten, in order to get some peace and quiet he had locked his door tightly shut. Could Phoenix really be standing right there? Just thinking about him made all of Miles's logic and critical thinking disappear. Miles went to the door, just before opening it he thought for a second.

Did he look good?

Miles ran to his desk and pulled out a little breath mint, he quickly popped it in his mouth and then also reached for a perfume on his window sill. Just before closing the drawer he grabbed a rusty mirror. Miles stared intensely whilst trying to get his hair to lay neatly. Finally he was ready.

He reached for the door, hands shaking he grabbed the cold door handle. Miles paused, how was he supposed to greet Phoenix?

Maybe a hello? Or a simple hug? Miles panicked thinking of all the choices for a single action, he gave up and slipped down onto the floor, his back leaning onto the door. Miles had completely forgotten that Phoenix was still standing by the door, awkwardly waiting for an answer.

About a minute passed and Miles continued to think, he looked great but how was he supposed to act? Argh he had forgotten all this social stuff! If just thinking about Phoenix made him all giddy how was he supposed to act when the real one (who like the idiot he was) continued to stand by the door!

Finally after another minute passed the knocking began. It was just gentle taps but enough to bring attention.

"Hey Miles? Did you die in there?"

Silence. Miles was blushing so intensely that he knew that if he answered then who knows what would come spilling out.

"Uhhh Miles you in there? I brought some tea... For you."

Miles had to hold his mouth shut, if he just quietly answered the door and gestured Phoenix to come inside then all would be fine.

"Huh. Why did he answer my text if he wasn't even in?"

Miles could hear the sound of footsteps softly walking away. Oh no! He couldn't just let Phoenix leave!

While his brain thought of the thousands of solutions to solve this problem his body had another idea. Without control Miles unlocked the door and swung it open shouting for Phoenix who was already half way down the corridor.

"Wait I'm here!"

Phoenix turned back around, his gloomy expression quickly shaped into a joyous smile. Miles could feel the warmth radiating inside of him, no! He had to at least somewhat remain respectable!

Phoenix quickly made his way back to Miles's door, Miles, who could still feel the redness on his cheeks, invited Phoenix inside.

They sat down together on the little sofa in the corner of Miles's room, above it still hung the first suit Miles had worn to his prosecution trial. Phoenix let out a little sigh and handed Miles the box of tea that he had mentioned outside the door.

"I was so worried that you weren't actually here and that I had been waiting like an idiot outside."

"No no it's my fault for taking so long to answer!"

The two lovebirds sat in silence for a while before Miles worked up the courage to talk to him.

"So... Why did you come here?"

"Well it was a little hard to say over a normal message."

"Oh?"

What could Phoenix possibly be talking about? It made Miles feel a mix of panic and excitement inside, what if the what Phoenix was going to say was good? But what if it was bad! Horrible! Horrendously life changing! Miles sat in his silent panic for a few seconds before Phoenix continued with his point.

"All I really wanted to ask is are you free next Friday?"

That was it? All this panic and working up such a simple situation for such a basic question.

Suspiciously Miles asked "And why should I be free next Friday?"

Panicked Phoenix answered back "Well it's not any particular reason other that I have this super important event planned..." His voice began to trail off near the end of his sentence.

Miles knew exactly what Phoenix meant, Phoenix hadn't done a very good job at hiding it.

All Miles knew is that he was going to beat Phoenix to it!
