It had been a very tiring evening, a lot of talks with sponsors and members of the team so I was glad as I was finally over. Luckily there was the race tomorrow so everybody had to get back to the hotel, meaning that it was 'only' half past eleven, when I arrived at my hotel room.

There were no voices coming from the inside and for a moment I got scared, thinking about the worst scenarios already. That Luka and Lio were gone, that something had happened to them. But then I remembered that Charles was with them and I calmed down a little.

It was crazy as I had never really trusted him before all that. We had been friends maybe, yes, but something had changed as now I knew my kids were safe with him, I trusted him with everything, even my own life and the ones from Luka and Lio.

Still I was worried, so I quickly opened the hotel room with my key card. Inside it was nearly dark, only the little bed side lamp was one, filling the room with a soft dimmed light. My heart missed a beat and a warmth spread in my body as I saw the image in front of me.

While Luka and Lio's beds were empty, my big one wasn't. Charles laying in the middle of it, eyes closed and calmly sleeping while the younger boy was laying all spread over his body, also sleeping.

Luka was then on one side cuddled up against the driver. A little tear rolled down my cheek as I saw them like that. Charles looked so beautiful, so peaceful with the kids around him, sleeping, and I wished that this would be my night every night from now on.

I then looked through the room, seeing Leo sleeping on the chair, before I put my phone and watch on the table, were my heart missed another beat. Another tear ran down my cheek as I saw some papers laying there.

They must have been from that evening as I had never seen them before. All three papers had a colorful painting on it, and it was clear who made which one. While Lio's was quite messy, Luka had brought in more details.

The younger one had decided to draw the four of us eating a pizza, while his older brother had gone for a picture of us around a red car. Even Leo was on his picture in the bottom corner. I then took a closer look at the paper that must have been Charles's drawing.

He had gone for a race situation, drawn two cars, a red and a blue one, while Luka, Lio and the dog were standing on the side line, cheering for the two drivers. I had to bite my bottom lip in order to not start crying even more.

The fact that he had drawn me while racing was overwhelming me somehow as currently I had neither the head nor all the muscles to drive such a fast car. Still he saw the positive and was optimistic, that's what I loved so much about him.

He always tried to build me up, to help me see the bright side of life again. Slowly I let the drawing back down, laying them back onto the table before going to the bathroom. Quietly I brushed my teeth before I changed into some comfortable cloths.

While I rummaged through my suitcase I heard something behind me and instantly froze. I didn't want to have a conversation with him right now, I didn't want him to leave, not after I had just seen these drawings.

But luckily it only seemed that Charles had moved in his sleep, a little smile build up on my face as I saw his messy hair and the slightly open mouth. Quietly I then closed my suitcase again, walking over to the beds.
