Chapter forty-five. "Bad Omen."

--------

Just an day or two had passed ever since Maul joined Death Watch on their plan to take over Mandalore, creating the Shadow Collective, and Yino had already disliked the guy. Not hated because that would be a strong word. But he did bring him an uncertainty and a feeling of unease that Yino did not like, it felt odd. Almost like the galaxy was shouting at him to stay away from him.

And that's what he was doing at the moment.

Resting in the middle of an bed, drinking some drink made with fruits, it was delicious, specially with ice. That, of course. Didn't help to ease the growing concern nor frustration inside him. The only thing he wanted was to take over the crime families Maul now had control over, but now that he was the one in control, his plans to take them over had been ruined, what other criminal family existed? Surely there were many, but not as well known as the ones he had under his control.

Of course, you should always collect the crumbles if they're all you have left. Not that YIno wanted the crumbles, the bottom of the barrel, to put it lightly. He wanted something well known, no. To be someone well known would be the right word. And yet here he was, drinking fruit juice with ice, in a bed, on Coruscant, and with the hologram of a Twi-lek dancing in front of him. All while he tried to create a new plan to become powerful without Maul, Vizsla, or anyone noticing it. But the options narrowed every time Yino went over them, trying to persuade any of the crime families that were under Maul's influence? He risked it all on being betrayed by them telling Maul that he had come to them and asked them to work for him.

For a moment, he thought about pirates, considering the narrow options he had, it sounded like the best solution, of course. He wouldn't have a small band of pirates, if there was something he wanted, was both numbers and intelligence, he could be the leader of a pirate gang. But pirates weren't always loyal to their leaders, so he had to pick well on his list.

And yet that seemed like an extra option, it almost seemed like he was missing one piece of the puzzle before resorting to pirates, but what was it? Working with Vizsla to kill Maul after they take over Mandalore? Or should he risk everything and side with Maul and perhaps risk being killed by the latter if he didn't deem him worthy? It was all a headache if he had to admit, and he took a long sip of his drink, letting out a satisfied "ah" once he took the sip, placing the glass on the bed stand.

What was he supposed to do now? Just let everything go as proceeded and that's all? No, but he also didn't know what to do. And that irritated him to a whole other level. He was thinking of what to do, when his comm-link ringed, he took a deep breath and turned off the hologram before attending to the call. "L/n, where are you?" It was Bo, of course it was. She had to be the only person Yino was less irritated with. "Coruscant, why?" He asked her nonchalantly, his free hand going to scratch the bandages on his left eye, how annoying. "We're leaving for Mandalore in a few hours, you coming in your own ship or what?" She asked him as he thought about it. "My own, don't worry." he answered, only a few hours to think of a plan, or at the very least. Someone to side with.

"Very well." Bo responded before ending the call, to which Yino grabbed the glass again, gulping the drink down before cleaning his mouth with the back of his palm. Stretching his arms, he grabbed the sheathe of his sword before grabbing another backpack, before opening the door of the small apartment he had and walking away. If only he knew what to do, if only.

"How's your eye?"

Bo tried to spark a talk with Yino as she saw him arrive on Mandalore, she had been hiding until the situation Maul and his brother were building was enough for them to act and in consequence, to get the support of the people. "Better, still itches tho." He answers, to Bo's surprise, he sounds a little more docile and calm than his usual snarky self. But she doesn't question it, she doesn't want an argument on the most important day on her career. There's a small silence between the two, not like there's much to say.
