I watched Y/N open the door, and my anxiety skyrocketed. My heart raced, ready for a fight, but then I saw Y/N's expression shift into a welcoming smile.

"Mr. and Mrs. Parker! Hello. Officer, how can we help you all today?" Y/N's voice was calm and smooth. I blinked, confusion flickering across my face as I hovered just behind the door. Quickly, I shoved my weapon away and discreetly grabbed Y/N's gun as she dangled it behind her, signaling for me to take it.

"Good morning, Ma'am," the officer began. "We're just doing a routine wellness check. Your neighbors reported hearing some loud noises coming from your home, and they were worried."

"Oh, Mr. and Mrs. Parker, we truly appreciate your concern," Y/N replied smoothly, widening the door with practiced ease. "But I'm so sorry you had to go through that trouble. My wife and I were just remodeling our home, tearing down some walls. Right, sweetheart?" She cast a quick glance back at me, her eyes urging me to play along.

I stepped forward, wrapping my arms around her in a quick embrace, forcing the biggest smile I could muster. "Yes, we really are sorry for all the noise, Mr. and Mrs. Parker. Peter is doing well, I hope. Such a bright boy, that Peter."

Mrs. Parker, visibly relieved, smiled warmly. "Oh, we're so sorry for calling the police. It really sounded like explosions in there! But Peter is doing great, thank you for asking."

"Well, it seems like a big misunderstanding," the officer cut in, smiling kindly. "We'll leave you folks alone now. Thanks for your time."

"Not a problem at all," Y/N responded with effortless charm as she gently closed the door behind them.

The door clicked shut, and the weight of everything we'd been hiding seemed to lift, even if only for a moment. Both of us exhaled heavily, feeling the tension evaporate between us. Y/N leaned back against the door.

"Wanda...you are the love of my life," she began, her voice low but steady. "I've lied to you about who I am and what I do. My name is Y/N Y/L/N—not Smith. Those 'business trips' were actually S.H.I.E.L.D. missions, operations that sent me all over the world to eliminate threats. That's the only thing I ever hid from you. But everything between us, all of my feelings for you—those have always been real. I never expected you to be an Avenger. But even knowing that now... I don't care. I'm ready to fight for us, no matter what."

I took in her words, a sense of relief and surprise washing over me. "Y/L/N..." I mused, a small smile breaking through as I repeated her real name. "Well, I think I like that better than Smith." I stepped closer, my heart swelling with affection. "Y/N, my name is Wanda Maximoff. I was born with certain...abilities, and I've been an Avenger for most of my life. I hope this doesn't change how you see me, knowing how S.H.I.E.L.D. often views 'superhumans.' But I need you to know—I love you. I've loved you from the start, and that hasn't changed. It never will."
