The bustling hallway was alive with chatter and shuffling feet, but Wednesday walked through it with Tyler by his side.

Despite the noise around her, her thoughts lingered on the ring she’d seen days ago at the jewelry store. It had been haunting her since, pulling her mind back to it in quiet moments.

"So, what are you gonna do when our vacation starts?"
Tyler asked, breaking the silence as they reached the quad and settled on one of the stone benches.

Wednesday tilted her head slightly. "Probably duel my father again. It's a family tradition."

Tyler chuckled, leaning back with an easy grin. "I was expecting something like an out of town vacation, but hey, you do you."

She raised a brow at him. "And what grand plans do you have, Tyler?"

Tyler hesitated, his smile faltering slightly. "My dad isn’t exactly thrilled to have me around, so I’m staying at Ajax’s place."

Wednesday narrowed her eyes, her tone sharpening. "Are you sure that’s wise?"

Tyler sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Still don’t trust him, do you?"

Wednesday's tone was flat, but her words carried weight. "I still can’t fathom why you went back to him after everything he did to you."

Tyler’s gaze softened as he leaned back. "I was a fool, sure, but... I see him trying. He’s not perfect, but he’s changing. And honestly? I don’t regret going back to him."

Wednesday’s lips pressed into a thin line. "He still owes Enid an apology."

"Speaking of Enid," Tyler said, seizing the opportunity to change the subject, "you’re not planning to visit her during the break?"

"Why would I?" Wednesday asked, her tone neutral but her eyes flickering with the faintest hesitation.

Tyler grinned knowingly. "Oh, I don’t know. A little sleepover? Or, better yet, invite her to your place. Who wouldn’t want to see the infamous Addams family manor?"

Wednesday’s expression remained impassive. "That is a possibility. Though I’m uncertain about visiting her place."

Tyler chuckled. "Wednesday, she’s practically your girlfriend. Don’t you think it’s time to make it official?"

The question made her pause. Her mind drifted back to the ring in the store

It symbolized so much of what she felt for Enid, emotions she struggled to name but couldn’t deny.

The reason she hadn’t asked Enid yet was because they were still healing, taking their time to rebuild what had been broken.

Yet that ring made her want to take that next step, to solidify what they had.

Before she could respond, a familiar voice rang out across the quad.

"Babe!"

Both Wednesday and Tyler turned to see Ajax jogging toward them. He grinned, slightly out of breath, as he reached them.

"Hey," Tyler greeted, his face lighting up as Ajax leaned down to kiss him on the cheek.

"I’ve been looking for you," Ajax said, then glanced at Wednesday. "Hey, Wednesday."

She gave a small nod as she observed the interaction.

Ajax turned back to Tyler. "We have to get ready for our date, remember?"

Tyler  smacked his forehead. "Right! It totally slipped my mind." He stood up hurriedly, gathering his things. "See you later, Wednesday."

As Tyler walked away, Ajax lingered for a moment, his gaze shifting to Wednesday. His expression grew more serious.
