Enid sighed, leaning back in her chair as she tried to focus on her assignment. She stole a glance at Wednesday, who was seated across from her, intensely focused as she typed at her typewriter.

The rhythmic clacking filled the room, and somehow it felt comforting. Even now, Enid could hardly believe that Wednesday was back here, sharing this space with her again.

The dorm had felt strangely empty without Wednesday’s presence, and now that she was back, Enid felt a comfort she hadn’t realized she’d missed so much. She couldn’t help but feel grateful.

"I’ll take a bath," Enid said after a while, breaking the silence. She stood up, grabbing a towel.

Wednesday didn’t look up, just gave a slight nod as she continued typing, her focus unwavering.

Enid watched her for a moment, a small smile forming on her lips before heading to the bathroom.

She shut the door, letting out a long breath as she turned on the shower, the sound of rushing water filling the small space.

As she let the warm water cascade over her, Enid’s mind drifted. She thought about the strange turn of events that had led to Wednesday moving back into her room, about the recent drama with Damon, and about the fleeting looks Wednesday had given her since they started sharing the space again.

It was confusing, even a little overwhelming, but somehow, she knew she didn’t want it any other way.

After a few minutes, she stepped out of the shower, quickly wrapping herself in a towel and rubbing a hand through her damp hair.

She reached for the door handle and pulled it open, only to find herself face-to-face with Wednesday.

Wednesday had apparently been reaching for the handle at the same time, her hand hovering.

They froze, staring at each other, barely a breath between them. Enid felt her face flush as she realized she was still dripping wet, only wrapped in a towel. She felt her heart rate quicken, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

“Uh…” Enid’s voice came out low, the awkwardness of the moment sinking in.

Wednesday, who rarely looked taken aback, and seemed flustered. She cleared her throat, her gaze finally drifting to the side.

"Apologies," she murmured, her voice soft. "I didn’t know you’d be… right there."

Enid raised an eyebrow, narrowing her eyes slightly. "I did mention I was going to take a bath," she replied, stepping past Wednesday, her damp hair brushed against Wednesday’s arm as she moved, causing the other girl to flinch slightly, though she quickly hid the reaction behind a neutral expression.

"I suppose the typewriter was loud enough to drown that out," Wednesday replied dryly, her usual composure beginning to return as she regained her poise.

Enid sat down on her bed, pulling her towel tighter around herself. "What were you trying to do, anyway?"

Wednesday turned to face her, arms crossed. "I needed to use the bathroom."

Enid smirked, her tone teasing. "Good thing I got out. Otherwise, you might’ve seen… well, more than you’d probably want to."

A slight tension appeared in Wednesday’s jaw, her eyes darkening.

"I’m quite glad you didn’t linger,” she replied in an even tone, though there was a faint tremor in her voice that Enid didn’t miss.

Enid watched as Wednesday walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her with a bit more force than necessary.
