"She's pretty," Alex said with a straight face as one of his friends pointed at a girl across the hall, "What does she play again?"
"Forgot, but she's good enough at what she does for her to almost compete in playing with other players from different countries."
"Right..." Alex gave his friend Matt an unsure look. "We don't know that for sure."
"Hey," he put his hands up in defense, "This is what I heard from the words of others. Besides, what are you even planning on doing with this information? You plannin' on chatting her up? No offense, but I've also heard that she's extremely busy with her classes. She's really good at writing-"
"Writing?" Alex paused and slowly turned his head toward his friend. "She's good at... writing?"
"Oh, brother."

"Ti, Re, Ti, Fi, Ti, Fi, Re, Fi, Re, Ti...," she whispered to herself as she looked at a page of complex music. "Then down to Fi..." She carefully made her way around the swarm of students in the hallways while being nose deep in reading the music.
Alex and his group of friends were walking down the hallway as they passed by her. Alex, being the only one who noticed the girl, paused his walking and took a double take to see if he wasn't imagining what he saw. He tugged on his friend's arm to stop them from walking, "That's her," he pointed to the figure ever so slowly beginning to vanish from his eyes.
"Okay? Cool," Matt gave him a funny look and tugged on Alex's backpack, "Talk to her later. We have to go before we're late-"
"You can go," Alex shut him down and left the group to go after her.
He merged into the group of hustling students and found his way around friend groups. He was just inches away from tapping on her shoulder until the bell rang and students immediately went into their classes. Out of panic, before she could step foot into her class, he grabbed her bag and pulled her away from the door. She stumbled back just a bit which caused a couple of her music papers to scatter on the floor. Her teacher showed no mercy as she closed the door on her face and left her outside for staff to deal with the tardy kids.
"Thanks a lot, you idiot," she glared and put her bag down to collect the music she dropped. He helped out with one sheet and briefly caught the title of the piece right as she snatched it away from him.
"The Flight of The Bumblebee," he spoke cautiously, "You must be pretty good at what you play." She ignored him and focused on organizing the papers back into her folder while waiting to be taken to the office and get written up for being late to class. "I didn't mean for this to happen," Alex tried to save himself, "I was just curious as to what you play."
"You didn't have to do all this. You could have found me any other time of the day."
He tried to find the correct words to say but he knew he was in the wrong, "I don't know your schedule." Nice save.
"I don't know you."
"Oh..." Gagged.
Before he could at least find a way to make it up to her, her teacher had a change of heart and opened the door for her to enter which left Alex all alone. Not even a minute later, he was written up by a supervisor and had a sentence of lunch detention just for one day.
