02-06. Eliminations

"We have now entered the elimination phase of the Sekai TaiKai." The woman on the stage announced.

The group hadn't really spoken to one another when they got back to the hotel. Mar had just been in the room with Sam, neither making an effort to talk to the other.

Now they were back at the tournament, the kids kind of ready to fight for their place in the SeKai TaiKai.

"The dojos who do not win tonight will be headed home." The woman continued explaining. "The previous rounds have determined your current rankings. The number one team will face the number 16 team. The number two team will face the number 15 team, and so on and so on."

"Okay, that means at number 12, we're facing number five, Dublin Thunder." Devon informed the group.

"Oh, great." Eli said sarcastically. "I heard they started a fight last night with some locals at the beach. They're always looking for a brawl."

Mar glanced to the group who was a few groups down. They were playfully fighting each other excitedly. The Digney girl rolled her eyes.

"Now, for the rules of the event." The woman on stage called out again. "Fighters will again face off on a platform."

Mar's lips parted as a platform was slowly lowered from the ceiling. It was much bigger than the other platform, but much more dangerous at how high it was.

"This platform." The lady pointed to the platform behind her. "But this time, two fighters from each dojo are allowed at one time. If one of your fighters falls... they are out. But another teammate can climb up to take their place. However, the fight never stops. So get up there quick to not leave your teammate alone two-on-one. When all the fighters of a dojo have been knocked off, the team is out."

Mar clenched her jaw, her hands behind her back. She would win this for the Miyagi-Do's. One way or another.

Mar twisted her lips to the side as she unwillingly clapped for Cobra Kai's victory. The boy Tory had been fighting alongside, picked up a tooth she had knocked out from her opponent, raising it up in the air before raising Tory's hand as well.

"Zara better watch out." Mar heard Miguel chuckle as he saw that Tory was glaring at her. "She's been trying to use me to get to Tory's head."

"She's been trying to use me to get at Mar's head too." Robby informed the boy, causing Mar to clench her jaw. This was new information. "Do they really think that will work?"

"It definitely will." Eli spoke up to the two boys from the middle of them. "Think about it. If Zara hooks up with Robby, for example, Mar will go ballistic. She'll go into a worse state than she already is in."

"But isn't that what Kwon's doing?" Felix asked as he looked to Robby. "Trying to get into your head using Mar?"

"Good luck out there." A voice had spoken up. Mar turned to see Kwon. Her eyes widening slightly. Good timing, Kwon.

"Yeah, and Mar's letting him." Miguel scoffed out to them, and Mar could only assume that they were all looking at them.

"You shouldn't be here right now.." Mar whispered slightly to the boy with widened eyes. "Your senseis and mine will-"

"Just friendly banter." Kwon smirked at the girl with a shrug. "They don't know what we're talking about."

"Really smart." Mar glared at the boy, causing him to chuckle slightly. "And I don't need luck, I got this in the bag."
