07. Making-up and Making-out

It was the next day and Mar and Sam had decided to tan before they headed off.

On their way to the pool, Sam and Mar was stopped by Daniel.

"Mariah, may I speak with you?" Daniel asked.

Sam furrowed wher brows confusedly. "Why do you wanna talk to Mar?"

Daniel opened his mouth to respond but was cut off.

"It's okay Sam, go on ahead and I'll meet you." Mar shrugged.

Sam nodded, confused at the two's behaviour before she exited the house.

As soon as Sam was out of earshot, Mar auidibly sighed.

"I know what this is about and I just wanted to apologize for being a grade A bitch to you when you were just trying to help me out." Mar said as she folded her arms across her chest.

"I accept your apology." Daniel smiled.

"I uh, I just don't like people telling me what to do, you know?" Mar sighed as she shifted her weight from one foot to another.

"Oh, yeah, I get it. I just want to make sure that you're gonna be sober." Daniel said bluntly. He didn't find sense in beating around the bush.

Mar pursed her lips. "I'm not going to offer Sam anything if that's what you mean."

"I'm not just worried about Sam." Daniel smiled, causing the teen girl to furrow her brows. "You're Sam's friend now and I can see that Sam really likes you so Amanda and I are gonna take you under our wing, okay?"

"I don't need you guys to take me under your wing." Mar said, tilting her head.

"Yeah well we're gonna, rather you like it or not." Daniel said, causing Mar to smile ever so slightly.

Maybe this really was a beginning of something with the Larusso family for Mar.

"Okay, well I'm gonna get back to Sam." Mar said with a nod of her head.

"Yeah, I have to meet my newest employee. I'm teaching him karate." Daniel said before tilting his head suggestively. "Would you like to join us? We could all do karate together and maybe you joining will also make Sam wanna join."

Mar smiled slightly. "I'll take you up on that offer another day, Mr. L. I'm kinda too tired to be doing karate."

Daniel smiled with pursed lips. "That's okay, but be sure to keep your promise next time."

"I promise." Mar smiled before she turned around walking out of the house, Daniel following closely behind her.

Mar's eyes widened at the sight of Robby talking with Sam.

She had expected to see him sooner or later, she just wasn't expecting sooner.

"Oh, look at this." Daniel laughed. "My current student and my former student."

Robby snapped his head towards Daniel.

His smile dropped slightly as he saw Mar. He was just surprised to see her.

Mar clenched her jaw, folding her arms as she avoided eye contact with him.

"Right, Robby, this is Mariah, Sam's friend. Mariah, this is Robby." Daniel introduced the two.

"Oh we've met." Mar murmured.

"You have?" Sam asked confusedly.

"Just kidding." Mar saved before extending her hand with a squint of her eyes. "Nice to meet you, Robby."
