Mar was stood with her teammates and Johnny silently. The tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
Mar hadn't spoken to any of them since the incident at the elevator earlier. They didn't make an effort to talk to her either.
Mar avoided looking at any of them. They all, except Demetri and Devon, were avoiding eye contact with Mar.
The team was slowly falling apart, but they needed to get their act together and start working together in order to win.
"You were supposed to be here fifteen minutes ago, Larusso." Johnny looked to Sam as she finally joined the group at their spot on the mat.
"I was looking for my dad." Sam explained as she looked to the man, causing Mar to frown. She needed to talk to Daniel before her fight. "Seen him?"
"He stepped out." Johnny informed the girl, causing her to frown. "Guess he got caught up or something. It's probably for the best."
Sam scrunched her face slightly at Johnny's words but didn't say anything as a woman began talking.
"In this final points round, competitors will try to knock their opponents off their platforms." The lady explained, Mar glancing to the small and not that long platform. "Once you have fallen, you are out. Points are determined off of wins, losses, and time. Final rankings after this event will determine placement in tonight's elimination round. We will now call up the first group of fighters."
"All right, listen up." Johnny said, causing the students to look to him. "Looks like I'm taking charge, so we're doing things differently. No more waiting around like scared little bitches, waiting for them to come to you. All right? You go at them. Aggressive. Knock 'em off first."
"Those platforms are pretty narrow." Sam pointed out to Johnny with a frown. "My dad would want balance."
"Yeah, well, your dad's not here." Johnny told the girl sassily. "It's time for us to start scoring some points."
"Sora Haruto from Hirobukan on platform one." The woman announced the first fight. "Devon Lee from Miyagi-Do on platform two."
"All right." Johnny nodded as everyone turned to Devon. Devon wore a slightly nervous look on her face. "Don't let me down, Lee."
"Yes, Sensei." Devon nodded with a deep inhale before she made her way towards platform two to fight.
The fight didn't last very long. Devon fought her best, but she was knocked down after ten seconds due to her lack of balance.
The group all sighed at Devon's easy defeat, but they had to admit it made them a little more nervous for their fight.
🥋
Felix was knocked off his platform after a minute of fighting. He slammed his fist into the ground angrily before he made his way towards his team.
"You're next." Johnny said as he looked to Mar. The girl inhaling deeply as she stood up. "You see all that pent up anger you've been unleashing on all of us? Use that. In this fight. You can do this. Show that girl hell."
Mar nodded at Johnny firmly, turning to walk towards the platform. Johnny slapped her back encouragingly as she walked off.
Mar made her way unto the platform, facing a familiar looking girl. It was the girl who had asked her for Robby's number.
Mar clenched her jaw as she raised her fists. The girl smirked at Mar tauntingly. "If I win, can I get your teammates number?"
"I'd like to see you try and win." Mar responded to her with a cocky half-smile, the judge then calling for them to begin.
