Dahlia clapped, she loved this "oooh! Make sure Minnie has Tissues!" she said eagerly, this was definitely one of her favorite moments, a slightly bemused Dumbledore conjured a box of tissues, placing them in front of McGonagall.
Dahlia held McGonagall's hand, leading her blindfolded "I will never understand how you got me to agree to this, honestly" McGonagall said, although she made no move to take off the blindfold, "you'll love it Minnie, I promise" Dahlia assured her, stopping in front of the Great Hall doors. She opened them, helping her in, "alright, take off your blindfold" Dahlia said, McGonagall removed her blindfold, her eyes widening as a gasp left her mouth. {The camera panned out, the great Hall was decorated in reds, and greens. A big banner hung in the air 'HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MINNIE' it read, the Hall was full of people, her current and past students, every child she had reached was here, including those that had been in the infirmary.}
The Hall cheered, adding their own happy mother's day to the woman who treated them all fairly, who made time for them, who cared for them regardless of the color of their tie. McGonagall understood why the tissues were there, taking some to dab her eyes with, unable to stop the tears from falling.
She was overwhelmed, looking at all of her students, present and past, her breath caught, looking at a table that had been placed against a wall, it was full of her students that passed or were unable to make it. Her eyes welled up with tears as she saw pictures of James, Lily, Alice, Frank, Marlene, and so many others, her cubs, her hatchlings, her pups, her Chicks, her children, some taken before their time and some lost down a dark path, but all of them were still her children.
"What happened to me? " Mary asked, she noticed how those that were dead had greyed pictures while those unable to make it were tinted blue, hers was a mix of both. "After what happened.... You were unable to handle the grief of it all, you Obliviated yourself of all magic, and moved to America" Dahlia said softly, after the war she had gone looking for her aunt, hoping to reconnect with her, only to find a woman who had no memory of magic or her parents.
"You may not be a mother Minnie, but you are ours" Dahlia said, each of them adding their own thing, McGonagall had been many things for them all, a parent, a mentor, a confident, anything and everything, none of them would ever be able to repay her. McGonagall cried, hugging each of her former students as she saw them, told her about their lives now, sharing fond memories of when they had been in the castle, Dahlia handed her letters from her parents journal, dedicated to her.
"How long did it take you to plan it? " lily asked curiously, "since summer, I had flitwick and Dumbledore get me a list of everyone that had attended since Minnie became a teacher, which was a lot. Any way, me and some of the other people as the reserve began writing letters, requesting their presence on April 20th, to celebrate the lovely Minnie McGonagall, once I had their confirmations, I spoke to hogsmeade village and they allowed everyone to port key there, where the carriages would be waiting for them" Dahlia explained.
{The camera darkened, a train whistling in the background}
"And that concludes Movie number 2" Dahlia said happily, putting the disk into a case, pushing in the third movie
