"Again? You mean, the Chamber of Secrets has been opened before?" Hermione asked, "Dumbledore knew, he had to have known immediately after he saw the sign, yet he's done nothing" Draco said at the same time. "yes, it's likely Dumbledore knows, however I doubt even he knows where the entrance is, unless he's a secret Parselmouth, in any case, it still isn't good that he knew and chose not to warn any of us. I mean if we hadn't done so, would Dumbledore have warned the students?" Dahlia asked as they headed to the defense club
"No we do not hate Dumbledore, no Dumbledore is not a bad guy. He along with everyone else needs to remember for all that he has done, he is only human, he is not the second coming of Merlin, and he is not all knowing" Dahlia said, that needed to be said before anyone started to argue, Dumbledore looked slightly chastised, The group couldn't wait for the 5th movie, it may have been a dark year, but Dahlia tearing Dumbledore a new one was a highlight worthy of casting any patronus.
"Now we need to figure out when the last one happened" Ron said "the Stoney gazer must be very hungry for missing out on half a century of food " Luna said in her distant voice, "50 years..... We can check the prophet archives, see if there's any mention around that time, though it might have been covered up, I doubt much news had to be about the school" Blaise said, being the first one aside from Dahlia to understand what Luna said. The group entered the classroom, dedicated to the dueling club "I wonder who's the teacher" Daphne mused, "Likely uncle Fil or Sev, Sev's brilliant at dueling and fil's a dueling champion" Dahlia said. "Nope, just the oversized peacock" Theo muttered, the group groaned as professor Lockhart strutted on to the dueling stage, "Gather round! Gather round! Can everybody see me? Can you all hear me? Excellent. In light of the dark events of recent weeks, Professor Dumbledore has granted me permission to start this little Dueling Club, to train you all up in case you ever need to defend yourselves, as I myself have done on countless occasions. For full details, see my published works." Lockhart said, "any chance we could just ditch? " Harry asked hopefully, "Nah, I want to see if he makes a fool of himself" Draco said.
"Hey!" Lockhart said offended, "Hay is for horses" The group chorused, snickering at the confused looks on the pure bloods faces
"Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape. He has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry, you'll still have your Potions Master when I'm through with him. Never fear." Lockhart said, "Five galleons say Snape Knocks him on his behind" Ron whispered, "5 says Sev, throws him across the stage" Dahlia said in return. Snape and Lockhart walk up to each other and raise their wands, bow their heads, and then walk several paces back from each other "One, two, three." Lockhart said, "Expelliarmus!" Snape cast, sending Lockhart flying into the wall. Most of the room roared with laughter, Dahlia held onto Blaise as she laughed, trying to not fall, Blaise held her up, he looked at her laughing face fondly, the beginning sparks of love growing with in him.
"Awwww" the girls cooed, "I want a man to look at me like Blaise looks at Dahlia" Marlene said "And thus the beginning of their sappy love story" Harry teased "shove it Harry" Dahlia said, smiling up at her husband.
Lockhart struggled to his feet, badly hiding a limp as he walked back to Snape "An excellent idea to show them that, Professor Snape, but if you don't mind me saying, it was pretty obvious what you were about to do. If I had wanted to stop you, it would have been only too easy." Lockhart said, backing away slightly at the glare Snape sent him. "Perhaps it would be prudent to first teach the students to block unfriendly spells, Professor." Severus drawled, "An excellent suggestion, Professor Snape. Let's have a volunteer pair. Potter, Black, how about you?" Lockhart suggested, the twins shared a smirk, nodding towards Severus. "Wands at the ready." Lockhart said, Dahlia and Harry raised their wands, the twins walked several steps before aiming their wands at each other "On the count three, cast your charms to disarm your opponent, only to disarm. We don't want any accidents here. One, two--" Lockhart said. Dahlia ducked as Harry casted a stupefy, Lockhart was hit instead, knocking him over unconscious. The twins traded spells, going back and forth, Severus stepped off the platform and raised dueling wards, the room watched as the twins dueled, 30 minutes passed before Harry disarmed Dahlia a second sooner.
The ball watched the duel in awe, Alastor was nearly jumping for joy, he so badly wanted those two to join his Aurors, "and t o think they've only improved since then" Ginny bragged with a smirk, the parents looked at their children in awe, they couldn't have been prouder of them.
