Dahlia entered the hall, she stopped briefly at the slytherin table to grab her schedule before she walked over to the gryffindor table taking a seat next to her brother, Hermes unrapped from her arm and slid onto the table, Apollo following his brother's lead, laid his head infront of Harry's plate. The twins became aware of the unusual silence and looked up, only to see everyone looking at them , Harry feeling his sister's rising discomfort stood up "Oi! It's rude to stare you know, mind your business" he said before faking a slip and sprawling out on the floor causing everyone to laugh, including his sister.

"I KNEW IT WAS FAKE!" Ron exclaimed loudly causing Dahlia and Harry to burst out into laughter, they had been telling him for years that harry actually fell and he was imagining the fake slip, the parents smiled at the close bond their kids had.

"Mione what class are you excited for?" Dahlia asked as she fed some of her ham to Hermes "Transfiguration, I find it fascinating, there all fascinating but -" Hermione stopped, trying to think of the right word "it sparked your interest?" Dahlia asked helpfully. " Yup" she replied brightly, it's too bad we have to wait until Wednesday to start" she added, " mione" dahlia said causing her to nod " right, it's to allow us to adjust and get comfortable with our surroundings " hermione, mostly to herself. Her and Dahlia wrote to each other daily over the rest of break, Dahlia helped her tone down her know it all tone and helped her relax a bit, while Hermione returned the favor, teaching the girl, that she could talk to someone other then her brother

The two looked at each other and smiled, they'd always be each other's first friend, they certainly helped each other through some of the worst times

"Ron, who's your favorite team?" Dahlia asked "the chuddly Cannons" Ron replied instantly before he went into a long discussion about them with her.

Dahlia could see that Hermione wanted to ask something but by the way she moved her hand, she didn't want to ask now, in fear of causing an argument

"That's what you were doing!?!" The boys exclaimed including harry, causing the girls to giggle "am I the only one confused?" Evan asked "me and Hermione came up with signals over the summer before first year after she explained that she hated that sometimes her opinion only caused her more bullying and eventually we told the other girls. " Dahlia explained. " Twisting or touching your ear meant you had gossip to share and don't want it over heard" Hermione explained while showing the movement " Rubbing your eye meant that you saw something and need to share" Daphne added " twisting your wrist meant you had a question or an opinion on something that might cause an argument with current company " Astoria added " messing with your hair meant you needed to tell a secret that couldn't be repeated " Ginny added causing understanding and slight awe to pass through the girls

" Hermione, wanna come with me outside, I wanted to check out the lake" dahlia asked getting a nod from her " see you later boys" they chorused before making their way to the lake, dahlia took her shoes off before sitting on the shore with her leg in the water. "Alright, what is it?" Dahlia asked once Hermione took a seat beside her "I don't understand how anyone could like quidditch, it's dangerous and you could die or get injured" Hermione ranted "same or different?" Dahlia asked "different, I need a debate" Hermione replied. "Alright, quidditch is no less dangerous than any other sport" Dahlia stated before stopping Hermione's incoming rant.

"First off, we have potions, Salves and spells that could heal us an inch from death, muggles however do not. Secondly, while quidditch is high in the sky, we have spells and safeguards inplace to help ensure survival, muggles do not, You can get injured in any game, hell I'm sure even cricket had caused injuries. You have to trust in magic on this one mione, and magic defies most laws of science " Dahlia explained while Hermione looked thoughtful.
