Did he do the right thing?
Asmodeus looked at the ring on his finger, which shone a strange red. But that was not the only thing. As Asmodeus looked through the windows of the Inferno Palace Hotel, he noticed an ominous red light shining through the glass windows. It was no ordinary light, but a sinister, flickering glow that filled the room with an eerie aura.
The scenery in the hotel was unchanged: the same people, the same butler, but the atmosphere was different. The red light that flooded the room cast ghostly shadows on the walls and bathed everything in a blood-red haze.
An oppressive feeling of uncertainty overcame Asmodeus as he looked around and wondered if he was really doing the right thing. The realization that they were now actually in hell hit him like a cold shiver. The consequences of their actions suddenly became tangible and he felt a stab of fear in his heart.
The ring on his finger suddenly seemed to grow heavier, as if reminding him that he had just made a pact with hell. But despite his doubts and fears, Asmodeus knew that they had no other choice.
They had to find Soles, whatever the cost.
"Good," Benjamin began, clapping his hands after the two angels had finally arrived in hell.
No big deal, because hell - unlike heaven - was more or less on earth. It was just a different dimension, recognizable by the high temperature and the eternally glowing red sun that never set. They could walk outside the hotel and observe the people, but not interact with them, that was the only difference to Earth.
"Before we start our job, I'll give you a little tour of the hotel. After all, this is the headquarters of hell. But you'll also need other names," Benjamin explained, putting on a brooding face. "The rings will hide your angelic powers, but your names are still far too conspicuous."
"We need another identity to be here?" asked Asmodeus, but at the same moment he seemed to understand. "I see, it would probably be strange to find me here."
Benjamin nodded in confirmation and continued: "Exactly that. Things are different here in hell. Some demons and souls banished from heaven are not exactly pleased to have angels in their midst. If they were to recognize you, it could lead to unwanted problems."
Tariel's expression turned serious as he absorbed the hotel owner's words. He still wasn't thrilled about the whole thing and had been holding back so far, but at least he was glad that the deal was only about finding a guardian angel. The significance of their new identities dawned on him as well, and he nodded slowly. "I see. So, what names do you suggest?"
Benjamin smiled mischievously and slapped his palms together in a theatrical gesture. "I've already got a few ideas. How about something appropriate, yet inconspicuous? Something that will make you disappear into the crowd but still have a certain charm." He paused for a moment, as if thinking, then continued: "For you, Asmodeus, I suggest the name Yeonjun. Classic, but timeless. And for you, Tariel, the name Terry."
