Chapter 3: Misunderstandings*

Another day, another class. Rhea settled into her seat, exchanging a warm smile with Zara. Aryan, sitting across from them, caught Zara's attention.

"Hey, Zara, can I borrow your notes from the last class?" Aryan asked, his voice low and polite.

Zara handed over her notes, and Rhea playfully teased her, "Wow, you're mentoring the class topper now!"

Zara chuckled and jokingly told Aryan, "Rhea's just jealous that you're asking me for help instead of her."

Aryan's expression darkened, and he stormed off, leaving Rhea and Zara staring after him in confusion.

"What's wrong with him?" Rhea asked, frowning.

Zara shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe he's just stressed about the upcoming exams."

But Rhea knew that wasn't the reason. She'd seen the hurt in Aryan's eyes, the sense of betrayal. And she knew that it was all because of Zara's careless comment.

Later that day, Rhea confronted Zara about the misunderstanding. "Zara, why did you tell Aryan that I was jealous?" Rhea asked, her voice firm but controlled.

Zara looked taken aback. "I was just joking, Rhea. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings."

Rhea sighed, frustration etched on her face. "You know how Aryan feels about me, Zara. Why did you have to go and make things worse?"

Zara's expression softened, and she placed a hand on Rhea's arm. "I'm sorry, Rhea. I really am. I didn't mean to cause any trouble."

Rhea nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "Just be more careful next time, okay?"

Zara nodded, and the two friends hugged it out. But Rhea couldn't shake off the feeling that the misunderstanding had caused irreparable damage.

As she walked home, Rhea wondered if she'd ever be able to clear the air with Aryan. And if she did, would he ever be able to forgive her?

The questions swirled in her mind, leaving Rhea with a sense of unease. She knew that she had to make things right with Aryan, but she had no idea where to start.
