Title: The Unspoken Connection:
*Chapter 24: "A Heartfelt Message"*
The warm sunlight streaming through the window illuminated Rhea's determined expression as she pored over her notes. Her friends chatted in the background, discussing their exams, but Rhea's mind kept drifting to Aryan.
She wondered how his exam had gone and whether he was feeling relieved now that it was over. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she sent him a message.
"Hey, how was your exam?" she asked, trying to sound casual despite her eagerness to know.
But to her dismay, the message didn't deliver. "He didn't receive it. Maybe his phone is not connected to the internet," Rhea sighed, feeling a pang of disappointment.
She refocused on her studies, but her mind kept wandering to Aryan. What was he doing? Was he relieved that his exam was over?
Just as she was starting to get engrossed in her notes again, her phone buzzed with an incoming message from Aryan. "Yeah! It was too easy."
Rhea's eyes lit up as she typed out a response. "I thought I should ask you about it as yesterday you said you don't want to give the exam.😶"
Aryan replied, "I said that 'cause I thought it would be better if I study biology, as it has too much syllabus."
Rhea messaged him back, "Okay, then study well. I have a lot of topics to be covered 🙃."
Aryan responded, "No, I'm going to sleep right now."
Rhea teased, "How lucky!!"
Aryan chuckled and replied, "😂"
Rhea's expression turned serious. "Here you are laughing, and I'm about to cry. 🥲"
Aryan's tone turned comforting. "Don't take tension. The exam would be easy."
Rhea revealed, "I don't have any tension about our exam. It's actually something that happened."
Aryan's concern grew. "What happened?"
Rhea shared her ordeal. "My dog bit me, and now I have a fever."
Aryan's response was empathetic. "☹️"
He advised, "Take medicine and take care of yourself."
Rhea's heart swelled with gratitude. "Thank you 🙌✨️"
Aryan's response left her breathless. "❤️"
Rhea's heart sank, her emotions in turmoil. She couldn't believe Aryan had sent her a heart emoji! What did it mean? Was he just being friendly, or was there something more to it?
Just as she was lost in thought, her phone buzzed again. This time, it was a message from school: "Important notice: There will be a stay-back at school after the exam till 2.00 pm. Please make necessary arrangements."
Rhea's anxiety spiked. She was going to have to face Aryan in school the next day! What if he asks about her injury in front of the class? She felt a wave of nervousness wash over her. How would she handle the situation?...
