The Unspoken Connection"
Chapter 13: Mixed Signals
Rhea's eyes met Aryan's as he entered the classroom, his gaze holding hers for a moment before he looked away. It was becoming a familiar routine, one that left Rhea feeling both nervous and intrigued.
As the day went on, Rhea couldn't help but notice Aryan's behavior. He was his usual charming self, cracking jokes and making the whole class laugh. But every time he made a witty remark, his eyes would flicker to Rhea, as if seeking her approval.
Rhea felt a flutter in her chest as she realized that Aryan was going out of his way to get her attention. She couldn't help but wonder if he had developed feelings for her.
But Rhea had a secret. She found herself constantly drawn to Aryan's WhatsApp profile picture. She couldn't explain why, but every time she saw his photo, she felt a rush of nervousness and her heart skipped a beat. It was as if she was afraid of being caught, even though she was alone.
Rhea was too shy to even look at his photo directly. She would quickly glance at it and then look away, her heart racing with excitement. She couldn't understand why she was reacting this way, but she couldn't deny the feelings that Aryan's photo evoked in her.
As she sat in class, Rhea decided to use the free periods to study maths. She had opted for compulsory maths, and she wanted to make sure she understood the concepts clearly.
As she delved deeper into her maths textbook, Rhea couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She could feel Aryan's eyes on her, watching her as she studied.
She glanced up, trying to catch his eye, but Aryan quickly looked away, pretending to focus on his own work. However, Rhea noticed that he would occasionally glance at her, his eyes locking onto hers for a brief moment before he looked away.
At one point, Aryan even leaned forward, his head bowed down as if he was studying his own textbook. But Rhea noticed that he was actually trying to sneak a peek at her, his eyes darting up to meet hers before quickly looking back down.
Rohan, who was sitting nearby, nudged Aryan and whispered, "Rhea is studying hard today."
Aryan glanced over at Rhea, a small smile playing on his lips. "Let her study," he replied, his voice low and gentle. "It's good."
Rhea, oblivious to the conversation, continued to study, her heart beating slightly faster at the thought of Aryan watching her.
As she delved deeper into her maths textbook, Rhea's mind kept drifting back to Aryan. She couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking, whether he felt the same way about her.
She also couldn't help but think about the time Aryan had reacted to her WhatsApp message with a "❤️". It was a small gesture, but it had spoken volumes to Rhea. She had felt a rush of excitement and happiness, and she couldn't help but wonder if Aryan had meant it as a sign of affection.
But just as Rhea was starting to feel hopeful, she saw Aryan follow Kiara to the hand-wash area during the break. Rhea's heart sank as she felt a pang of jealousy. Was Aryan really interested in Kiara, just like Zara had suspected?
Rhea felt like a fool for even considering the possibility that Aryan might like her. She tried to push the thoughts aside, focusing on her studies instead.
As the day drew to a close, Rhea couldn't help but feel confused. Aryan's behavior was giving her mixed signals, and she couldn't figure out what he really wanted.
One thing was certain, though - Rhea's heart skipped a beat every time she thought about Aryan, and she couldn't help but wonder what the future held for them.
To be continued.....
