In between two school busses, a white plastic bag laid on the almost invisible ground. Other than that, it seemed to be another lifeless night.

I closed my eyes. Focused on one of my senses at a time, as Theo taught me. Sounds from elsewhere tuned out and it started to clear.

Loud echo rang through my skull. Theo and Tracy jumped down on the pavement from the on top of the school bus.

As when you walk into a dark room when stared at the sun, I had yet to adjust.

I followed Theo who sensed something. His foot steps were heavy, but inaudible. Blending right into the lawless night.

"Did you see it?" Tracy catches up to us.

"It was too fast." Theo shake his head.

Tracy impatient picked up her speed. "But it is here?"

"Yeah so keep your distance," he grunted.

I ripped open the closed school doors. The corridor stretched out endlessly. Little moon light shone in from the windows. Just enough to tell if I had my eyes open, or closed.

"Look, we're not trying to catch it. Not yet." He stopped Tracy.

Not too far from here, I heard a mechanic growl. Theo run to the corner hallway changed direction. Shortly after we stood in front of rows of lockers.

Theo flashed his eyes golden. Intensely staring at something left unseen to me.

"It's the same message, isn't it?" Tracy looked at Theo. "What are they trying to tell it?"

The Dread Doctors are leaving love letters to the beast and no one cared to mention it.

Theo with his usual grim green eyes, looked at me. His eyes went right through me like I was not there. "Trying to get it remember who it was."

"But isn't it just a teenager like us? Isn't it just a kid underneath?" Tracy asked furthermore.

"They don't care about that." Theo sighted. "The Doctors, they needed a body because they couldn't resurrect the beast out of thin air. That kid underneath, whoever it is, is just a side-effect. All the Doctors care about is the Beast."

"Why are they trying to bring it back?" I looked at Theo.

Theo shrugged his shoulders. "Why does anyone do anything?"

Theo paced around the area. Looking for additional clues.

"So what happens if it does remember?" Tracy interrogated him further.

"I'm not sure... The thing probably doesn't even know it turns back to human during the day."

My ears started to ring. Impossible to place where it was coming from. In small flashes, I saw instrument waving past me. Robotic voices which talked among themselves.
