Telling Elaina everything might've been my fatal mistake, but it proved to be entertainment for the team. Much to my demise, Elaina made it her mission to throw subtle digs my way. Katie caught on almost immediately and gave me a devilish smirk, which left me spiralling because of the relentless teasing I was now receiving from both of them.

I needed a stronger drink if I was going to deal with this all night. So I slipped away to the bar, but Wally was hot on my tail, naturally meaning Leah was too. That's how I found myself downing a shot of tequila with the LWs in my attempt to escape Elaina and Katie's teasing.

"Why are Elaina and Katie ganging up on you? And why are we downing tequila?" Wally asked with a sour look on her face before Leah handed her a lime.

"I told Elaina everything," I let out a sigh and thanked the bartender for refilling my drink. This caught Wally's and apparently Leah's attention because she leaned on the bar over Wally's shoulder to give me a curious look.

"Everything?"

"Told her what?" Leah's curiosity made me raise a questioning eyebrow and glance towards Wally. I wasn't sure how much Leah actually knew about Katie and I, or how much Wally had told her.

"Wouldn't you like to know," I deadpanned as Leah frowned. I rolled my eyes before sipping at my drink, thinking of a response that didn't entirely give everything away. "It's got to do with Katie and I."

A devilish grin grew on Leah's face, which made me furrow my eyebrows in confusion and slight worry. Quickly I diverted my eyes to Wally, silently asking what the fuck was happening. Though her face was turning a shade of red that I rarely saw, "Lia, what did you do?"

Her eyes widened at me using her actual name because I rarely called her that unless it was serious. Leah was having a giggle fit at Wally's reaction, and I was about to push her towards the dance floor to shut her up. "Lia?"

"I might've mentioned you and Katie used to date. In my defence, Leah was prying information out of me when I was tipsy! It wasn't fair!" At her attempt at an excuse, Leah turned to defend herself, which only led to her and Wally bickering.

I simply rolled my eyes and shook my head at the two, but I couldn't help the smile that grew because it was honestly cute. Leah was headstrong, and Wally was a voice of reason; their arguments were always silly.

Before I could think any further, a hand slipped into mine and pulled me towards the middle of the dance floor. I'd usually be worried by this, but I'd recognise that soft but firm grip anywhere. As we slowed to a stop, Katie turned to wrap her arms around my waist. "Hey you," she said with a sly grin.

I didn't stop the way my hands naturally locked around her neck as we swayed to the music. "Did you break away from Elaina?" Katie let out a low chuckle as we unconsciously got closer to the point where her breath was hot on my lips.

"She's off terrorising people with Beth, and I wanted a moment with you." Katie's boldness took me by surprise. Someone had clearly been drinking the night away; probably Elaina's doing. She had a way of getting someone to drink a lot more than they should, and it always left me blackout drunk.

"How many shots have you had?" I smiled with amusement when Katie feigned hurt. The world had ceased to exist around us as we became engrossed by one another. Such a simple conversation had taken my full attention. Both of us unaware to everyone whose eyes were on us and the way we were holding each other. Someone oblivious could take it as close friends, but anyone who had common sense would know it ran deeper than that.

Neither of us had broken away as our bodies gradually got closer, and we were pressed against each other trying to get impossibly closer. The both of us teasing each other relentlessly, and I was on the verge of giving in when Katie's lips grazed my neck.
