Chapter 14 : Unseemly
Today...
Was just not Zoro's day.
From the moment he woke up, things had gone downhill. It started with Mihawk, standing tall with that inscrutable expression of his, sending Zoro off to school like some delinquent in need of reform.
The man's words about Zoro's "lack of discipline" were said with a dispassion that only Mihawk could master.
Zoro had barely managed to hold back his retort, a mix of frustration and resignation weighing down his steps as he headed to school.
The feeling of being treated like a child—it stung.
If only it ended there.
Zoro had tried, truly tried, to catch up on his studies. He stared at the textbooks, struggling to focus, but everything seemed to swim before his eyes, the letters mocking his inability to grasp anything.
The harder he tried, the more he felt his frustration bubbling over. He was used to pushing his limits, but this?
This was a different beast altogether.
Then came lunch.
Just as Zoro thought the day couldn't get worse, Luffy somehow managed to spill an entire slice of cake over Zoro's pristine school uniform. The sticky, sweet mess clung to his clothes, and Zoro had no choice but to take off his blazer, leaving him in just his undershirt for the rest of the day.
The laughter from his classmates and their whispered snickers echoed around him, cutting through his already fragile patience.
He clenched his fists and bit his tongue, knowing a fight here would only make everything worse.
He kept his head forward, ignoring the stares, and hoped for the day to end soon.
And now, there was this.
After the school day finally ended, Zoro hoped for some peace.
Just a bit of solace where he could put the disastrous day behind him. But that hope was dashed when Luffy—following your strict orders—managed to track him down and drag him back home.
Zoro grumbled the entire way, the annoyance clear in his voice. Yet he knew better than to resist when you gave Luffy a task.
Finally, as the front door creaked open, he felt the slightest glimmer of hope. I can blow off some steam, do a few hundred reps, and forget this day ever happened, he thought. But the universe, it seemed, wasn't done messing with him just yet.
Which brought him here.
In Perona's room.
Sitting cross-legged on the floor, glaring at a tiny table adorned with dainty cups and plates, while Luffy—of all people—seemed to be having the time of his life.
Zoro, on the other hand, was wearing a frilly pink dress.
Complete with a matching headdress.
The humiliation of it was almost too much to bear. This was his punishment, you said, for skipping school and getting into yet another fight.
Something about teaching him humility and patience.
If Zoro didn't know any better, he'd say you were enjoying his misery from afar.
"Zoro-nii?" Perona's sugary-sweet voice cut through his thoughts, pulling him back to the absurdity of the moment.
She approached him, holding up a toy teapot with a practiced air of elegance, her eyes wide and expectant.
