Chapter 6 : Just Fine
The dawn of a new day marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in your life: your first day on the new job.
Before departing from Mihawk's residence, a brief exchange of phone numbers had taken place, during which he mentioned he would send you the details of your job's starting location.
He specified a start time of 8:30 AM at a particular address.
Upon checking your phone, you were taken aback to discover that the job location was merely a street away from the remnants of your old, burned-down house.
Arriving at the given address did little to surprise you this time.
Before you stood a three-story house, radiating elegance and modernity with its sleek design.
It was noticeably larger than your former residence, exuding the aura of a landed property.
Yet, in comparison to the opulent villa you had visited the day before, this structure seemed a more modest selection.
"Good Morning, Miss Y/N."
The voice prompted you to turn around, where you were met by Mihawk, accompanied by a teenager with green hair and a younger girl with pink, pigtail-styled hair.
The boy appeared disinterested, yawning as if he had been roused from sleep just moments ago, while the girl sought refuge behind Mihawk, evidently shy around new faces.
"Say Hello, children, this is Miss Y/N, our new Nanny," Mihawk encouraged, gently nudging the girl forward.
However, she resisted, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of approaching a stranger.
The boy, on the other hand, displayed a different demeanor.
He acknowledged the introduction with a nod and stepped forward, introducing himself, "Roronoa Zoro, 16 years old."
Welcoming his approach, you offered a smile and extended your hand for a handshake, complimenting him, "I like your hair."
"Thanks," he responded, accepting your handshake with a slight blush coloring his cheeks, evidently flattered by your compliment.
Turning your attention to Mihawk and the shy little girl by his side, you gently squatted down to meet her eye level, conscious of making your approach as non-intimidating as possible.
With a warm smile and a soft, gentle voice, you introduced yourself, "Hey there, princess, I'm Y/N. What's a pretty girl like you called?"
Her reaction was one of surprise, her wide eyes quickly giving way to giggles as she covered her mouth with her hand.
"Dracula.. Perona.. 12 years old.." she revealed, her shyness melting away under the glow of your kind demeanor.
Your smile grew even broader, delighted by her response.
"Little Princess Perona it is then!" you declared, happy to have made a connection with her.
Mihawk observed the exchange with a keen eye, his nod of approval indicating his satisfaction with how you interacted with his children.
"Shall we enter then?" he suggested, prompting you to stand and follow him and the children into the house.
As you stepped inside, your eyes lit up with wonder, a reaction mirrored by Perona, while Zoro maintained an unimpressed facade, much like Mihawk's own.
However, something peculiar caught your attention.
The house, grand as it was, stood entirely unfurnished.
