Will You Be There?

Ciara POV

I was sleep next to J'Shawn when I awoke to my phone ringing,I look to see it was my mom. It was 3:25 so it must've been an emergency.

"Hello?" I ask

"Ci" She cries

My heartbeat speeds up at the tone in her voice,I calm my nerves a little and proceed with the conversation.

"What's wrong?" I ask nervously

"Michael got shot" She says

Everything feels like it's going in slow motion and tears start to form in my eyes.

"How?" I ask

"He was at a club with Chris and gun shots rang out,while they were trying to leave one hit him in in his arm and another one in his leg" She says

"Is he at a hospital?" I ask hoping that she would say yes and not something else.....

"Yea,Brooklyn Hospital Center" She says

"Ok" I say as I pull the covers back and get up

We disconnect the call and I put my shoes on and wake J'Shawn up.

"Can you come with me to the hospital?" I ask

"Yea,why you crying?" He asks as he sits up and puts his shoes on

I tell him what happened and we get in his car. It was a quiet 30 minute ride,when we go in we go to the waiting room and see my parents,Michael mom,Chyna,King and a few of Michaels friends. I sit in the chair next to my parents and put my head in my hands and sigh. I decide to scroll through my phone to distract my mind but every media outlet says the same thing.

"RAPPER TYGA SHOT TWICE IN CLUB SHOOTOUT,RUSHED TO HOSPITAL,MORE DETAILS HERE:"

I decide to go outside and get some air,I felt like I was gonna suffocate in there. J'Shawn comes out and hugs me tightly.

"I have a strong feeling he's gonna be ok,please try to relax" He says

My phone rings and I see it's August calling.

"Hello?" I say

"Did I wake you?" He asks

"No" I say

"How did you and J'Shawn date night go?" He asks

"Good" I say

"Me,Tyla,and Nicki are at Drake's house,y'all wanna come over?" He asks

"No" I say sadly

"What's wrong?" He asks concerned

"Michael got shot" I sigh trying not to cry again

"Deadass!?" He says

"Yup" I say softly

"What hospital?" He asks

"Brooklyn Hospital Center" I say

"We're on our way" He says

"You don't have to come if you don't want to" I say

"I want to,we'll be there soon" He says

"Ok" I say

We disconnect the call and I pull back from J'Shawn's embrace.

"I need to be alone for a few minutes" I say

"Ok" He says and kisses my forehead before going back inside

I lean against the wall and look at pictures and videos of me and Michael. I laugh at one in particular as my eyes get watery. I can't help but think about him as the cool dawn air brushes past me. I think about how long it's been since I saw him and I breakdown crying. I say a Prayer hoping that he will be ok and perfectly fine. I try my best to wipe my tears away but that fails. I feel a pair of arms wrap around me and I recognize it as Drake.

"He's gonna be ok" He says while rubbing small circles in my back

"Did the doctors tell y'all anything?" Tyla asks

"Not that I know of" I mumble

"You comin in now or no?" Drake asks

"A few minutes" I say

They go in and I take a few minutes to mentally and emotionally prepare myself. I go back inside and sit back down,laying my head on J'Shawns shoulder. About an hour goes by and all the doctor told us was that he was still in surgery. Nicki asks to talk to me and we go outside. She gives me a hug and we sit there like that for a while.

"Carry me like you are my blood,Love me like a mother" I mumble

"Weary,tell me will you hold me,When wrong will you scold me,When lost will you find me?" I ask

"Of course" She says softly

"I don't know what to think" I say as more tears fall

"Moment like right now I need you to help me find myself" I say

"Don't worry,I will" She says

"Most of the time I feel like everyone's taking control of me and it seems that the world's got a role for me,I'm just so confused,will you show to me you'll be there for me and care enough to bear me?" I ask

"No matter what" She says while giving me a small smile

I give her a small smile and she hugs me again. We pull apart and go back inside,just as I sit down a doctor walks toward us.

"Family of Michael Stevenson?" He says

Michaels mom nods her head and the doctor reads off the clipboard.
