"So, Jordan I hear you're a mother now." My interviewer said and I smiled just at the mention of Ro. "Oh look I see you cheesin'." He said and I laughed, adjusting the headphones I had on.
"Yeah, I got a little girl now," I said, my smile never wavering once.
"Congrats, congrats." He said and I thanked him. "When was she born?"
"Last year in May," I said, putting my hands on either side of the microphone. "It's been a journey since then, but it's all so amazing."
"That's amazing, and h-how do you- sorry uh."
I chuckled lightly. "It's alright take your time," I said comfortingly, and he cleared his throat.
"Sorry, um what surprised you the most about having a daughter? I know that alone is a big responsibility so.. how did you- make that shift into 'I have another person to take care of now'."
I licked my lips and flexed my jaw, scratching my eyebrow. "How rewarding it is, is what surprised me the most."
"How rewarding? If you don't mind me asking."
"Nah, you cool, but it feels rewarding seeing her every day, and watching her grow, just hearing her laugh seeing her smile it's all amazing, and it keeps me going some days, to know I got her to come home to at night."
"That's beautiful." He said and I smiled. "And what is— how do you balance touring and studio time while having Royalty?"
"Uh, it's easy really, I'm always on FaceTime with her, she can't talk so I just listen to her little babbles but it's enough for me," I answered, clearing my throat. "And studio time, it's easy to manage that, cause I'll work from home or I'll pick her up until I'm done."
"That's great, and I love how no matter what it seems you always making time for her."
"Of course, that's my baby." He smiled.
"Okay, and speaking of studio time, does Royalty inspire some of your music?"
"She has a song which I won't tell you too much about she inspired a whole song from me."
"Can you tell us when you'll release it?" I just smiled and shook my head.
"Not right now," I said a soft chuckle leaving my mouth. "I will say this though, it's coming out sometime next year."
He groaned playfully, and I bit my lip. "Oh, shit, well you heard, we can hear a Royalty inspired song next year." I looked at the camera that was recording me and gave a cheeky smile. "Does she show any interest in music? Even at her young age."
"I play her song for her a lot or just sing it to her, and she'll babble— more like sing it with me, so she does."
"I would love to see that." He said and I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and I took it out, seeing Lexi had sent me a video of Ro.
"Hold on," I said, playing the video and it was Ro laid on her pillow sitting up, music playing in the background— my music and she was singing along making me smile, Lexi showed the TV and I popped up then put the phone on Ro's face and a wide smile was on her face, then the video ended. "You can see it now," I said gesturing to my phone.
"Oh, that's awesome." He said and I held my phone up to show him the video, and the camera went behind him to record it as well. "That is adorable." He said once it was finished and I nodded and put my phone back in my pocket. "She looks just like you." He added and I scratched my arm. "By the time she turns three she'll be singing better than you!" He joked and I laughed.
"You already know it," I said, adjusting my glasses on my face. "She gon' be bigger than me by the time she turn 5." I joked and he chuckled.
"Okay, recently you did a collab with Chris Brown, a single called 'Chi Chi' great song by the way and that's another song you've collaborated with Chris is there something..?"
