Life had certainly taken an interesting turn ever since Hye-mi and Jin Guk officially became part of their friend group. Both quickly established themselves as the unofficial relationship gurus, doling out advice to Hae-in, Pil-sook, and the boys between study sessions.
For the most part, their advice was sound and practical.
On the topic of quality time...
"Meeting once or twice a week would be ideal – just the two of you," Hye-mi said with a decisive nod. "It's not too much and not too little. That way, you'll have time to get to know each other without coming off as clingy."
On the topic of PDA...
"We try not to be too affectionate in front of our friends," Jin Guk explained, leaning back against the desk. "It's awkward and can alienate the group. Trust me, no one wants to hang around a couple who can't keep their hands to themselves."
And when Dal-po and Pil-sook had their first disagreement...
"You just have to find a way to talk it out, man," Jin Guk advised Dal-po. "Start by listening to her perspective first."
"Wait until you're calm," Hye-mi suggested to Pil-sook. "If you're too emotional, you might say things you don't mean, and it'll just escalate."
But there were moments when their advice came completely from personal experience, sometimes ignoring the nuances of their friends' personalities.
For instance, on the topic of the first kiss...
"You have to be willing to be vulnerable," Hye-mi told the girls confidently. "If you overthink it, it'll never happen. Trust me. And the easiest way to get your boy to make the first move? Play up that damsel-in-distress charm. Boys love that. Why do you think the trope exists?"
Meanwhile, on the boys' end...
"Charm her," Jin Guk shared coolly.
