The lead actress sobbed heartbrokenly, her voice trembling as she pleaded. With shaking hands, she reached out to cup the male lead's cheek tenderly, her sorrow palpable even through the screen.

"I won't be able to recognise you. I'll become a stranger."

"Oh no..." Hyun Woo whimpered softly, clutching the sleeve of his jacket which he had draped over Hae-in's knee prior to the start of the movie. With eyes brimming with tears, Hyun Woo couldn't keep his voice from breaking as he tried to hold back a sniffle. "Don't say that..."

In the dimly lit theatre, the high school boy was a tear-streaked mess, his emotions spilling over as the tragic love story unfolded on screen. He couldn't seem to stop crying for the pair of ill-fated lovers whose marriage was torn apart and mended, only for them to face the cruel twist of illness.

When Hae-in had agreed to this movie date, she hadn't anticipated herself trying to console a heartbroken Hyun Woo.

To be fair, even Hyun Woo hadn't expected this turn of events. When Jin-guk had recommended this film, it was supposed to set the stage for Hyun Woo to comfort Hae-in during the emotional moments – not the other way around. But here he was, leaning into her for support as the ill-fated lovers' story unravelled, with no shame in his heartfelt tears.

On the big screen, the male lead grasped the female lead's hands with desperate intensity.

"Even if that's the case, I'll be the first person you meet. Then you'll fall in love with me again. Your heart will race again when I get drunk and act cute. We can love once again. Hmm?" The male lead whispered tenderly.

The star athlete let out a whimper, his lips quivering as he turned to Hae-in with tear-soaked, puppy-like eyes. Then, he blew obnoxiously into the tissue which was already drenched with his tears.

Hae-in sighed, her eyes darting between the actor on-screen and her boyfriend. At this point, she wasn't sure who was crying harder. Without a word, she pulled another tissue from her bag and handed it to Hyun Woo, shaking her head helplessly.
