Jiang Fan had just sent the message when he received a reply.

"Little wild cat: You have a girlfriend? Who is she?"

Jiang Fan immediately thought of Chu Ruoxi, the classmate he had spent the day with a few days ago. Although they hadn't known each other for long, Chu Ruoxi's lively, adorable personality and her pure, beautiful appearance had deeply captivated him. Thinking of her, Jiang Fan couldn't help but smile.

At that moment, his phone beeped again.

"Little wild cat: Who is it? You won't tell me? Then I'll pester you forever! Hmph!"

Jiang Fan, not wanting to waste time on a back-and-forth with Qiao Yifei, simply replied:

"I'm talking about my high school classmate, Chu Ruoxi."

Far away, Chu Ruoxi, holding her phone, read Jiang Fan's message. Upon realizing he was referring to her, she couldn't help but laugh with joy.

"Hmph, he's secretly calling me his girlfriend. What a naughty boy! Hehe..."

Although she was teasing Jiang Fan, her face, radiant with happiness, looked like a blooming flower. She thought about how Jiang Fan had scored 300 in the college entrance exam and realized he had purposely controlled his score. While she didn't quite understand why he did it, it was enough to prove Jiang Fan's capabilities.

Now, everyone in their class knew about his score manipulation. They used to mock Jiang Fan, calling him a fool who only deserved to go to a vocational school. But now, Jiang Fan had developed solar photovoltaic panels, and prestigious universities like Kyoto Huqing and Peking University had sought to recruit him.

Thinking about it, Chu Ruoxi felt a sense of pride, as Jiang Fan had quietly slapped those classmates' faces with his achievements.

She had once worried that Jiang Fan might choose to attend a technical school, which would create an insurmountable distance between them. But now, it seemed possible they might attend the same university!

When she saw that Jiang Fan had mentioned her as his girlfriend, she felt a warmth in her heart.

Moreover, Jiang Fan was quite handsome, standing over 1.8 meters tall, with a good build. He was calm and composed, not very talkative, but certainly her type. If Jiang Fan really did become her boyfriend, it wouldn't be bad at all.

As Chu Ruoxi thought about this, her face flushed slightly.

She decided to tease him again, this time pretending to be Qiao Yifei, sending Jiang Fan another message:

"Little wild cat: So, what is it about Chu Ruoxi that you like?"

After sending the message, Chu Ruoxi couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement, eagerly anticipating what kind of compliment Jiang Fan would give her.

"Hehe... send!"

But then, her smile froze.

Jiang Fan had deleted her contact.

"What a bad boy! Hmph, daring to delete me from WeChat! Just wait until I see you!"

With that, Chu Ruoxi angrily tossed her phone onto the bed. A moment later, she thought again.

"Huh! Wait a minute!"

She realized that Jiang Fan must have thought she was Qiao Yifei, so he deleted her message by mistake. He hadn't actually intended to delete her!

At this thought, Chu Ruoxi giggled. This only proved that Jiang Fan wasn't a flirtatious person. If they ever started dating, she wouldn't need to worry about him getting involved with other girls.

But then, her smile faded and her lips pouted as she mumbled:

"How am I going to chat with Jiang Fan now, without his WeChat...?"

...

After deleting Little Wild Cat from his WeChat, Jiang Fan felt a sense of relief, as his phone had become much quieter.

He finished his meal quickly. Since he couldn't return to the research facility, he pushed his empty plate aside and took out his notebook to continue organizing his plan.

The entire morning was spent in his quarters, going over the details of the plan. Based on the efficiency of Zhou Huaide and the others yesterday, Jiang Fan estimated that the data he had worked on the previous night should be finalized by around 11:30.

By 11 a.m., he grabbed his notebook and headed to the laboratory.

As expected, they were still conducting the final checks. When they saw Jiang Fan, they greeted him enthusiastically.

"Chief Engineer Jiang, you've arrived just in time! We've completed the revisions you asked for. Could you check and see if there are any issues?"

"Alright."

Jiang Fan walked up to the Tokamak device and began inspecting the changes they had made.

Five minutes later, Jiang Fan finished checking and noticed that the curvature of one of the components was incorrect. Everything else appeared fine.

"Uncle Zhou, this part needs to be revised. The curvature here is 121.789 degrees, with a deviation of 0.02 degrees!"

Jiang Fan handed the curvature meter to Zhou Huaide.

Zhou Huaide measured it too and, indeed, there was a 0.02-degree deviation. His face darkened instantly as he turned to the team.

"Who made this component?"

"Commander Zhou, I'm sorry. It was my fault for not measuring accurately!" one of the researchers said.

Just as Zhou Huaide was about to scold him, Jiang Fan interjected.

"Uncle Zhou, it's fine. Just remind everyone to be more careful next time."

Zhou Huaide understood that, due to the tight schedule, small issues were bound to arise.

However, the Tokamak device was incredibly complex, and even the slightest error could cause an entire component to be reworked, wasting a lot of time.

"This time, we'll let it go. But from now on, everyone must be more meticulous. You are all researchers and should know better than me that even a minor mistake could result in the failure of the entire project..."

Everyone nodded in agreement. They all understood the precision required for materials in controlled nuclear fusion. Even a small error during the operation of the plasma in the Tokamak could lead to instability in the fusion process.

Due to the mistake made by one researcher, most of the materials needed to be reworked, and the researcher felt deeply guilty. Afterward, he sincerely apologized to everyone, but no one blamed him. Instead, they comforted him.

In the end, after everything was corrected, the team was able to finish the work.

Time flew by. Amid their focused and orderly revisions, the controlled nuclear fusion project was completed!

After Jiang Fan inspected the materials and data, his tense expression finally relaxed.

"We've succeeded!" Zhou Huaide shouted, and everyone cheered in unison!

But only Jiang Fan knew that the Tokamak device they had just developed was merely to fulfill Zhou Huaide and the leader's promise. To truly achieve controlled nuclear fusion, with stable and sustained output, and apply this new energy across various industries, they would need at least another year and a minimum of 10 billion yuan in funding to complete it.

"Jiang Fan, when will we conduct the ignition experiment?"

"Uncle Zhou, because of the tight timeline, the Tokamak device I developed can only be used once."

"Once? How confident are we that we can stabilize nuclear fusion for 100 seconds?"

"Seventy percent."

"Alright, I'll contact the leader right away!"
