Later that night, Olive stayed behind in the rehearsal space, pacing as she replayed the argument in her head. She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear the door open until Kendall's voice broke the silence.

"You really know how to clear a room," Kendall said, leaning against the wall.

Olive sighed. "What do you want?"

"To check on you," Kendall said simply. "You seemed... off."

"I'm fine," Olive said curtly.

Kendall walked closer, her expression softer now. "You know, you don't have to carry everything by yourself."

Olive stiffened. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm saying it's okay to let people in," Kendall said. "You don't have to be perfect all the time."

Olive's heart raced. "And what makes you think you know anything about me?"

Kendall smiled gently. "Because the real you is standing right in front of me."

For a moment, Olive didn't move, didn't breathe. Then, without thinking, she stepped forward and kissed Kendall. It was impulsive, reckless—and everything Olive had been trying to deny. Kendall kissed her back, her hands tangling in Olive's hair as the world fell away around them.
