By the time Olive arrived at chapter meeting that afternoon, the whispers had already started. She could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on her. The AOII girls were talking—no doubt about the photo that had somehow gotten out. Mrs. Porter's disapproving voice echoed in her head: "This is not the place for that kind of behavior."

Olive was barely holding it together when her phone buzzed. It was a message from Kendall.

Kendall: Chelsea showed up to Alpha Sig with the photo. Everyone's talking about me. This is bad, Olive.

Her stomach churned as she read the message. If Mrs. Porter found out, it would be the end. Kendall's secret, their secret—it couldn't get out.

Just as Olive was about to retreat into her thoughts, a soft voice interrupted her.

"Everything okay, Olive?"

Olive turned to find Addi, an ADPi girl who was both her rival and the one person Olive felt she could never measure up to. Addi was gorgeous, confident, and everything Olive had spent years trying to be. The way Addi always seemed so poised, always one step ahead, was maddening.

Olive forced a tight smile, trying to mask her unease. "I'm fine, just... a lot going on."

Addi's smile softened, and she took a step closer. "You sure? You look a little tense."

"Really, I'm fine," Olive said quickly, trying to brush her off. "It's nothing."

But Addi wasn't the type to let things go that easily. She tilted her head, studying Olive with her deep, understanding eyes. "You know, Olive, I'm here if you ever want to talk. No pressure, but... I just want to make sure you're okay."

Olive's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly squashed the feeling. Addi wasn't really interested in her. She was just being nice, as usual. The way everyone always treated Olive—like she was some project to fix, something to be nurtured—but never really seen. Never truly wanted.

"I don't need help," Olive snapped a little too sharply. She hated how vulnerable Addi made her feel.

Addi didn't flinch. She just smiled that warm, patient smile that drove Olive crazy. "Okay. But just remember, Olive, I'm here. No judgment."

Olive's chest tightened. "Thanks," she mumbled, brushing past Addi, but her mind was racing. Why couldn't she just get over her stupid jealousy? Why did Addi's kindness feel like both a threat and a lifeline?

That night, Olive sat in her room, trying to calm herself after the whirlwind of emotions. She'd just been on the phone with Kendall, who was frantic about the photo. It had spread faster than they expected, and soon, everyone in Greek life would know. She couldn't let that happen—not with Mrs. Porter already questioning her loyalty to AOII.

There was no one else who could help her. No one except for Addi.

Suddenly, she had an idea—an idea that both terrified and relieved her. She couldn't go to Mrs. Porter. She couldn't even turn to the other AOII girls. But Addi... Addi was someone who could help.

Reluctantly, Olive pulled up Addi's number and sent a text. Who would've thought she would need help from an ADPi?

Olive: I need your help. Something's happened, and I don't know what to do.

A few minutes later, Addi replied.

Addi: Of course, I'm here for you. What's going on?

Olive hesitated, her fingers trembling. She wasn't used to asking anyone for help, especially not Addi. But she had no choice.

Olive: It's about a photo. It's gone viral, and it pits me in a weird spot.

Addi: Oh no.. I can help. I know people in Chi O. I'll get you what you need.

Olive stared at the screen for a moment, unsure what to think. Was Addi really offering to help, or was she just being nice again? Olive couldn't help but feel like this was more than a simple act of kindness. There was something different about Addi's tone—something that suggested she genuinely wanted to be on her side.

Olive: Okay, but you have to promise me this won't get back to anyone in AOII.

Addi: I promise. I'll make sure no one finds out.
