Later that night, Olive stood with Addi outside the Chi O house, her heart pounding. She could hardly believe they were doing this. It felt wrong—breaking into the house, sneaking around to delete the photo. But it was the only way.
"Stay calm," Addi whispered, her voice steady. "I'll do the heavy lifting. You just keep the girls busy."
As they snuck inside, Olive's nerves were on edge. The Chi O girls were busy preparing for their charity event, and none of them noticed the pair slipping through the back door.
"Stay close," Addi said, leading the way toward the common room where Chelsea had her things. "I'll grab her phone. You keep them occupied."
Olive wasn't sure how, but she found herself standing in front of a group of Chi O girls, chatting away with them about the event. The conversation felt forced, but it kept them distracted long enough for Addi to sneak into Chelsea's room.
A few moments later, Addi returned with a grin on her face. She handed Olive the phone. "Here. All you have to do is delete the photo."
Olive's heart raced as she opened the phone. It took just seconds to delete the incriminating photo, but it felt like a lifetime.
"Thanks," Olive whispered, a rush of gratitude flooding through her.
Addi smiled gently. "No problem. We've got this."
As they slipped back out into the night, Olive couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and confusion. Addi was more than just the perfect ADPi girl. She was someone who cared, someone who truly wanted to help, despite the rivalry.
But there was something else, too. Olive didn't quite understand why Addi had gone so far to help her. The truth was, Addi had her own secret to protect. She had once been in the same position as Olive—a private moment, a leaked photo, a Phi Delt who had taken things too far. And Addi knew how painful it was to have your privacy torn apart. Maybe that's why she understood Olive's panic, why she'd rushed to her side.
Despite their rivalry, despite everything that had separated them, Addi was offering Olive something she hadn't known she needed: trust. And maybe—just maybe—Olive was beginning to trust her in return.
